not sure if this is what u are looking for but here it goes

Beaded Christmas Tree 10" tall. http://www.craftown.com/xmas/craft6.htm

Equipment: Wire cutters. Jeweler’s pliers. Ruler. Scissors.

Materials: Beads: 6mm transparent emerald green (faceted), about 600; larger green, about 15; multicolored E beads (like seed beads, but larger), about 150; 15mm rhinestone star, one; plastic snowflakes, about five. Assorted beads as desired to fill in (pearls, crystal, seed, pearl drop, rhinestone).

Wire: Green covered stem, 16 gauge, one piece 10" long; silver colored, 32 gauge, one spool; green colored, 26 gauge, one spool. Small plastic flowerpot, 2 1/2" high, 2" in diameter. Spackle or plaster to fill pot. Decorative foil to cover pot. One piece each of lightweight cardboard and felt, approximately 2" x 2". Glue.

Directions:

1. Using bottom of flowerpot as a pattern, cut a circle from cardboard and felt; glue cardboard to base of pot; glue felt over it.

2. Prepare spackle or plaster according to package directions; pour mixture into flowerpot. Before spackle hardens, insert the 10" piece of stem wire into center of pot. Place large pale green beads around stem wire on top of plaster; allow to harden.

3. From green colored wire, cut approximately 15 pieces of each of the following lengths: 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2".

4. To form bottom branches, start at base of tree. Twist ends of the 15 longest pieces of green-colored wire around stem wire, spacing around stem. String emerald green beads onto each wire; leave about 1/4" of wire at end; twist into a loop to prevent beads from falling off. Use the 15 next longest pieces of green wire for next row of branches. Use graduated shorter lengths as you work around stem to the top, to give tree shape. Bead each wire after it has been attached to tree; twist each end into a loop.

5. For decorations, cut pieces of silver-colored wire about 2" long. String multicolored beads as desired, leaving short ends of wire; twist into a circle; twist ends to branches at random on tree. String other beads separately onto small pieces of wire and attach to tree, arranging as desired. Attach rhinestone star to top of tree, using small piece of wire. Cover flowerpot with decorative foil; glue

Beaded Snowflakes Beads can be used to create beautiful, everlasting Christmas ornaments. These snowflakes use a combination of small and large beads: small rocailles (silver-lined transparent beads); long, thin bugle beads; and larger druk beads (smooth, round beads).

Supplies: 20-, 24-, and 30-gauge tinned copper wire; round-nosed pliers; wire cutters; beads (see above).

Instructions:

  • 1. Create a snowflake form by crisscrossing three 10-inch lengths of 20-gauge wire so their midpoints meet and the wires extend from the center like equally spaced spokes.
    2. Secure the center by wrapping 30-gauge wire around it several times. Alternatively, you can solder the wires together.
    3. Transfer four size-5/o rocailles to one arm; wrap one end of a 12-inch length of 24-gauge wire on the arm, as close to the last bead as possible.
    4. Thread a large, a small, and another large druk bead onto the 24-guage wire; repeat bead transfer (see step 3) on next arm, and wrap the wire close to last bead.
    5. Repeat until an inner perimeter is formed (below, right), then add two 5/o rocailles, a bugle bead, and a large druk bead to each arm.
    6. Loop the end of each arm closed with round-nosed pliers.
Not sure if this is the same as the wreaths you mentioned .

Question Oldie but goodie

Hello to one and all. I have been reading your forums but have never participated. I have gotten many good ideas and projects here...thank you. I am looking for something that has probably been out of circulation for quite a while. I need the flair beadstrings. I used to make the bead and wire ming trees and beaded Christmas pine trees with them. Recently my daughter has shown an interest in learning how to make them. Now, of course, they are a forgotten craft. If anyone knows of a source for beads and other supplies for these oldie but goodie bead trees...especially the flair beadstring, please let me know. You can email directly to redneckpenguin@hotmail.com. Thank you. Lynn

I haven't done many bead crafts this year but will be looking for ideas soon for the annual ornament exchange. For those that would like to make the snowflakes, you can purchase the ready made snowflake forms at most craft stores. You could make the center like it is posted here.

Lynn, For security reasons, please don't post your email or any other personal information on the boards. Those that want to contact you can do that by sending you a PM( private message). You can give people your email through the PM.
Thanks
