Sock Snowman

white sock
coloured sock
stuffing
orange felt (scrap is fine)
glue gun
twine
fabric paint
buttons (optional)
Get your materials together.

Cut the top off a white sock leaving the foot part intact. Stuff the sock and glue closed using gluegun.

Tie a string around the sock to seperate into two parts for a body and a head for your snowman.

Cut the toe part off the coloured sock and use for a hat - gluegun in place.

Cut two strips of equal width from the ribbing part of the coloured sock. Glue the strips together to form one large strip.
Tie around neck of snowman for a scarf.

Cut a triangle from orange felt for a carrot nose - glue on using gluegun.

Use the fabric paint to add eyes. Let dry.

Use a gluegun to add buttons to the body of your snowman if you wish. You can also make a broom or other accessories :-)

Kids Christmas Craft--Soapy Snowmen

Soapy Snowmen

Squish, roll, and stick together a festive snowman family.

Materials
• 2 cups Ivory Snow Ultra
• 1/2 cup water
• Toothpicks
• Twigs
• Cloves
• Buttons
• Felt
• Seed beads
• Tempera paints
• Egg carton
• Pipe cleaners

Step 1:
To mix up a batch of faux snow, pour the Ivory Snow into a bowl, add the water and whip with an electric beater until doughy.

Step 2:
Shape the damp soap into three balls. Stack them by gently pushing a toothpick halfway into the center of the bottom ball. Then, push the middle ball down onto the toothpick until the two balls touch. Do the same for the snowman's head.

Step 3:
Add twig arms, clove eyes, shirt buttons and a felt scarf. To make a smiling mouth, press on a row of seed beads. For a mini carrot nose, color the tip of a short twig with orange paint. Top off the snowman with an eggcup hat or a set of pipe cleaner earmuffs.

Tips:
As the soap dries (this can take a few hours), it will lose its grayish tinge and turn bright white.

Idea was sent to me by CraftyLdy

Snowman Snowcone

2 1/2” Styrofoam Ball
2” Styrofoam Ball
2 1/2” x 4” Styrofoam Cone (or a real ice cream cone)
Tub-O-Snow
White, pink and brown paint
Holiday Pattern Fat Quarter
Darice Mini Carrot
Darice black beads
Green ribbon, gold wire, toothpicks, Crafter’s Goop

Paint the styrofoam balls white and the cone brown. Glue the balls and cone together using toothpicks and Crafter’s Goop.
Glue the black beads in the styrofoam to make eyes, mouth and buttons. Glue the carrot into the face for a nose.
Clump Snow on the base of the snowman body and top of cone. Stencil pink cheeks. Tie of a stip of the fabric quarter around the neck for a scarf.
Glue a loop of wire into the top of the snowman head and thread ribbon through the wire to use as a hanger.
