No I dont mind you asking Lorna, I got started when my dh bought me the Boyds Bear "Bailey" for my birthday. I fell in love with Boyds Bears, and have collected them along with any other kind of bear that needs to be "adopted". That was smart of you to keep the notebook, I should have done that but now it would be kind of hard to take pictures of all of them, although I do have alot of them that have had their picture taken, because I transfer some of the pictures onto, notecards, or some Ive even had blown up and put in a frame. We have a teddy bear thread if you are interested here is the link http://www.familycorner.com/forums/s...905#post243905
I also belong to a few teddy bear sites, if you are interested pm me and I will give you the info on them. Its fun to chat with other bear lovers and one of the groups does small(inexpensive) swaps, not just the bears themselves but with bear related items, bookmark, cards, ornaments, etc.
Have a good day
Hugs Sandie

thanks for the link i am still learning all the forums in this site. something for everyone
I thought about the rice pillows for the men but the conl. hospital said no becuase it is considered medical and they would have to get a doctors order for them. and the nurses would have to deal with them. soooo many rules and regulations. ugh!
I sew. I make clothing, dolls, animals, etc. My grandkids have Build a Bears, and I sew clothes for them. They each have night wear, and day wear. I make "receiving" blankets also, but I like them big, so I buy 1 1/4 yd.s of 45" fabric and hem all the edges mitering the corners. I like to have some on hand so if anyone finds out they are expecting or going to deliver close to Christmas I have them on hand as a special present.
I Also crochet and am working on my neice's wedding present which will be an afgan. I just finished a baby blanket.
Ceramics is another hobby I share with my friend that has the kiln. I did a mid-evil chess set 2 Christmas' ago, and love to make special christmas ornaments for all grandkids both the regular and the "aquired" ones.
The rice bags are great and you can also use flax seed. Sometimes I add some lavender to a soothing aroma. Neck Bones pillows are great too. Just draw a bone shape and cut 3 or 4 and sew them together, leaving a small slit on the side to stuff the pillow firm. I've made these for our Chiropractor's office only his I covered with plastic. You can get the plastic at Hand****s in the upholstry dept. You want the next to the smallest gage.
Another thing is spice shapes. All it is is Cinnamon and other ground spices mixed with glue ( White glue) to form a thick paste. Roll out between 2 sheets of waxed paper and cut out shapes with a cookie cutter, and put a hole at the top for hanging. Allow to dry on a sheet of waxed paper. Then I like to give a light coat of talc or flour to keep them from sticking together and store them in an airtight container until I'm ready to give them away. They can be decorated with eyes, ribbons, etc.
I too make ornaments for my cousins. Since I am the oldest grandchild, most of them refer to me as Aunt Linda. I started making things for them when I couldn't afford to buy. When I had enough money, I bought things, and they were all disappointed so I started back making things. Now, I make ornaments for their children. I give Christmas baskets to family and friends. I make cookie mixes, rice mixes, crochet dish cloths and hot pads...crocheted around a CD. When I retired, short on money once more, I started making caps and scarves. For years, I have had this disease that doesn't allow me to pass up a bargain, especially if it's yarn, so I will be able to make things like this for years to come just using my stash.

I worked at Han**** Fabrics and Wal-mart' fabric / craft dept. I know what you mean by stash!! I have plenty of various fabrics for clothes, baby blankets, dolls, etc. Its the notions I end up buying more of, but I may also see more fabric and............ Well you know.
I also love to crochet and can't stand to pass up a bargin on yarn so I can crochet Afgans & baby blankets.
My DH says I need to get rid of it and I told him I'm working as fast as I can, but if he thinks its too much...... BUY me a BIGGER house
As I have often told my dh, my fabric/yarn "addiction" is still cheaper than therapy. Once the kids are a little older, I will have time to use it all. (I have to keep telling myself that). I have a friend who keeps her stash in the trunk of her car so that her husband does not know how much she has. When we moved here 7 years ago, I boxed up a great deal. It is still in the boxes. Eventually, the playroom/guest room will become my sewing/knitting/craft room with a futon for guests.
I am going to buy a little (LOL) more yarn this week for projects to keep me busy while I am recuperating from surgery (scheduled for Friday). I will be in the hospital for several days and recovery will be at least 8 weeks. I have trouble dealing with 1 day down so I have to have something to keep me busy. Lots of sweaters, blankets, scarves etc. for Christmas gifts, baby gifts, etc.
Wish me nimble fingers!

I had to start putting a limit on what I keep due to space. I told DH that I would not have more supplies than I need for 10 projects at a time. But he is also not allowed to have more than 10 items at a time for the cars he restores. Due to they always end up in the house. So when I see something new I want todo I hurry and finish a currnet project.
