I need some ideas for a Buzz Lightyear party for my son. He will be 8 this year. It won't be until August. We live in Arizona, so most of the games will most likely be inside ones. I'm working ahead so I don't have to spend a lot of money in one month.
Any ideas for games, and decorations and/or food?
Thanks in advance.

Hi there!Just cruising around on some different threads here!
There is a magazine called BirthdayExpress, that has different themes birthdays,I believe Buzz is in there, kinda expensive to order decoration,plates,napkins...I'm from P.A. here,
I just got BirthdayExpress mag. in mail, you can request a free catalog(spring2003) at BirthdayExpress.com or call them at
1-800-424-7843,the address on order form isKirkland,WA 98033
They do have a special now for free standard shipping on orders over&75.00 or more, orders MUST be received by3-20-2003,so it states on order form, hope this info. helps out!I have not ordered from there myself,so not sure of company,to tell you any experieces.
On another note,if you have a scanner&,you can scan a pic. of Buzz,&print out your own invitations, you can even buy colored computer paper, like at Walmart or possibly a computer store I'd imagine, another thing I did buy 2 print Cd's of characters,Hercules&Disney pooh&Mickey, think I found them at local K-mart&Walmart,you just print already made up invitations, signs, etc.,maybe you could be on the lookout for a Cd,
I did find out from a website 2yrs ago,got the phone no. for Disney outlet warehouse(where they send out all Disney merchandise,&hubby called was looking for Alice-in -Wonderland,
& was told that since Disney is licensed& copyrighted, you can only purchase things in stores as they have them. It's best with Disney I discoverd to have what new Disney movie for that year or buy things in advance if you think child would like to have that b-day in future,I did that with Daughter, have cinderalla things in attic, keeping for her 8y/o b-day this year!Hope this helps you in some ways! 4moms
Have the birthday child dress up like Buzz and when the guest come in give them a red bandana and a cowboy hat to all look like Woody and Jessie.
You may want to put on the invitation to dress like a cowboy/cowgirl.
Give Sheriff stars out for all hats.
Invitation Ideas
Buzz Lightyear invites you to ______ birthday party. Place: Sector 12 (then listed address) StarDate:___ Time:___ RSVP to Star Command (listed phone number.)
Activities and Games
Have Children make stick horses( have already cut out the heads, stuffed them and attached them to the sticks) they glued the eyes, manes, ears, mouth and tied the strings on, put their names on them and they set them in one area to dry.
Make Mr. and Mrs. Potato heads. Already have cut out the potato shapes with eyes, noses, ears, mouths, shoes, hats etc and each child made their own Mr./Mrs. Potato Head.
Have a Play Station with a lot of the toy story character toys (Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Etch a Sketch, Toy Soldiers, RC Car, Slink, Ham and Many Buzz Lightyear Toys, Woody, Jessie and Bullseye.
Make rockets magnets out of craft foam. Have precut the pieces and the kids glued them together. Have a bag of stars and numbers. Each child choose a number and we were able to tell which rocket belonged to which child
Buy Green Army Men and have a hunt. Hide them arounf the house/yard and the children have to search for them. They place the army men they win in their goody bag at the end of the party.
If outside...have an obstible course. Make use of swings and jungle gyms if oyu have them.
