New Alarm Clock is for Kids but it's the Parents Who are Sleeping in

A new award-winning alarm clock for children is keeping kids in bed longer but it's parents who are catching up on sleep. The Teach Me Time! Talking Alarm Clock & Nightlight is a sleep trainer for early-rising youngsters and a time-teaching tool for school aged kids.

Teach Me Time! is the latest creation from American Innovative www.americaninnovative.com. The company previously responsible for getting college kids to class on time with its Neverlate line of 7-day Alarm Clocks is now tackling a new type of wake-up challenge.

"I will admit that even I have been a little surprised to find how effectively the 'Ok to wake!' nightlight feature works," said Adam B. Hocherman, President of American Innovative. "What we've found is that kids feel a sense of accomplishment from waiting until the 'Green means go!' light comes on and take pride in coming to tell parents about a job well done."

Teach Me Time! glows a soft yellow at bedtime and then changes color to green at the "Ok to wake!" time programmed by the parent. In addition, the large, clear LCD face includes both a traditional analog clock with hands and a digital readout. A friendly, female voice speaks the time on demand and makes other announcements in the special "Time Teaching" game mode.

"Seby could not tell time before we got Teach Me Time! He played with it for hours the day after I brought it home and in one day he was telling time down to five-minute increments. It is amazing how quickly kids can learn if the activity is in the form of a game," said one parent who learned about the product during an in-store event in Boston.

The Teach Me Time! Talking Alarm Clock & Nightlight ($39.95) is the recipient of the 2008 Product of the Year Award from Creative Child magazine in the category of educational products. Available direct from the manufacturer at www.AmericanInnovative.com and at Amazon.com.

American Innovative is a Boston-based manufacturer of innovative consumer electronic and educational products including the Klip! Kids Teaching & Time-Out Timer.
