Wiggly Waterbabies Dolls

PLAYMATES TOYS INTRODUCES NEWEST ADDITION TO ENDURINGLY POPULAR BRAND

WIGGLY WATERBABIES DOLLS

With Over 14 Million Waterbabies Dolls Sold To Date, Company Launches
National Television Campaign

COSTA MESA, CA – They wiggle and jiggle just like real babies and girls can’t get enough of them. In response to continuing consumer demand, Playmates Toys will introduce the latest extension to its phenomenally popular Waterbabies doll line with three posed
Wiggly Waterbabies dolls scheduled for delivery in June 2004. The unique dolls with patented water-filled technology simulate the soft, warm and wiggly feel of a real baby. Since the introduction of the line in 1990, more than 14 million Waterbabies dolls have been sold. Drawing on the success of the ever-popular Disney, Care Bears and Peanuts licensed Waterbabies dolls, Playmates expanded its all-star slate with the introduction of Shrek and Fiona dolls in 2004. The Wiggly Waterbabies dolls will introduce the new brand look and will be supported with a national television advertising campaign for the first time since 1999.

“The success of the Waterbabies doll line has been consistent for the last 14 years,” said Jeanette Corcuera, Director of Marketing Girls Toys, for Playmates. “Clearly, this is a concept that resonates with moms and girls and we believe that the latest additions will add to the brand’s popularity and appeal.”

The three new Waterbabies dolls are posed in unique body positions to facilitate the classic nurturing play patterns that little girls love: Feeding Time Baby, ready to be fed;
Playtime Baby, ready to play; and Bathtime Baby, kicking joyfully in her bath. Unlike any other baby doll, Wiggly Waterbabies dolls wiggle in response each time a girl touches them, seeming to actually react to her “mommy’s” touch. If you tickle her, she seems to giggle; bounce her up and down and she seems to jump. She even makes an ideal bath companion! Ideal for ages 3 and up, there’s no end to the play possibilities with the new
Wiggly Waterbabies dolls. Each Wiggly Waterbaby doll will have a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Feeding Time Baby: Sit baby down and she’s ready to eat. She jiggles with excitement because she loves feeding time. Tickle her feet, or grab her hands and she giggles and jiggles away. Her skin is so soft and she moves to your touch. Pretend to play patty cake …see how much fun it is to feed and play with her!

Playtime Baby: It’s time to play with baby. Help her crawl towards you and see her feet kick back and forth. Play ball with her or just give her a pacifier. She’s perfectly content as you tickle her. See her wiggle and giggle away. Playing is so much fun!

Bathtime Baby: Let’s get baby ready for her bath! She’s smiling with excitement and loves to be touched. Wash behind her ears and in between her cute little toes…oops, that tickles! Hold her hands and help her splash in the water. Time to dry off with a snuggly towel. She’s shivering because it’s cold. Better cuddle baby to keep her warm. Bath time is so much fun with baby!

Playmates Toys also has several new licensed dolls scheduled for release in 2005.
