I am a 35 year old mother and I had the chicken pox two weeks ago and was really sick. My ten year old has the same kind of spots that I did. He has been vaccinated and he has about 10 spots on his tummy and arms. I was wondering since he has been vaccinated is he still contagious to other people?

Yes, As far as I know, he is still contagious. Take him to his doc. and have him checked out. Chicken Pox havent hit my DS's school this year yet, thank goodness. We just went through a round of lice though---thankfully he didnt get that either.

Cicken Pox are contagious beofre eruption ( during the runny nose, sore throat fever time before hand) and untill all the pox are scabbed over and there is no more fever.

Because your son had the vaccine, he should ahve a less severe case of Chicken Pox that if he wasn't vaccinated, but YES..he is contagious, and should stay out of school and especially away from pregnant family members and any one who is imuno-compromised..
