| Ham Pot Pie

2 tbsp margarine 2 tbsp flour 1 cup skim milk 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp paprika 1 1/2 cups cooked ham, cut into small bite size pieces 1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed 1 cup boiled turnips, cut into small bite size pieces 1/4 cup mushrooms, sliced thin Drop biscuit dough, enough for "6 drops" 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese Melt the margarine and add flour stirring till blended. Add the milk slowly and while cooking over medium heat, stir till thick. Add the pepper and paprika. Put alternate layers of ham, peas and carots, turnips, and the sauce you prepared into a greased 2 qt. casserole and place mushrooms on the top. Drop biscuit dough into 6 "drops" and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Bake at 425 degrees for about 30 minutes or till the biscuits are golden and the "filling" is hot. Makes 6 servings |
