Mound Balls

This is a Christmas candy I make every year!

1 stick margarine, softened
1 14 oz. package coconut
2 boxes powdered sugar
2 t. vanilla
finely chopped almonds , if desired

Mix the above in a large bowl.

Add 1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk. Make into balls. Chill 1 hour

In double boiler mix 3/4 bar of parafin and 18 oz. chocolate chips.
(or you can melt this in the microwave.)
Using toothpicks, dip balls into chocolate and place on waxed paper , in refrigerator to set.

Enjoy, Donna

I followed the recipe & made no changes other than to omit the almonds. They were easy to make. They turned out really good. I would make these again. I may try using candy melts instead of the chocolate chips & parafin & see how that works. Candy melts are the type that you use in molded candies & come in different colors. These would be good to make for Easter using the colored candy melts.

Thanks Donna for posting this.

They are really good Tami. If you like the Mounds or Almond Joy candy bars, you'll like these. I didn't use the almonds in mine since I don't like almonds.
