 Haley's grandmom's Christmas Candy Recipe
I make this every Christmas for gifts. It's a traditional Maine candy;;
NEEDEMS: 3/4 MASHED POTATO(NOT SEASONED),1 STICK MELTED OLEO,2 LBS. CONF. SUGAR., 8 OZ. COCONUT,2 TSP VAN.,12 OZ REAL CHOCOLATE BITS,4 SQUARES bAKER'S CHOCOLATE,1/2 CAKE CANNING WAX. Mix potatoand oleo , add conf. sugar,coconut and van,mix well.It should be a stiff mixture. Pat into a 13x9"pan.thickness should be 1/2". Chill 24 hr.slightly covered.To dip,melt bits,baking chocolate and wax.Cut coconut into squares 1 1/2x 1 1/2".Drop each square inot melted chocolate. Flip with a fork and slide onto wax paper.Enjoy |
