Aloha Dump Cake

NOTES:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Use 9 X 13 baking pan, greased.
3. Servings: 12

1-1/4 pounds canned crushed pineapple, undrained
1, 10 ounce jar maraschino cherries, drained (whole or cut in half)
1/2 pound flaked coconut, untoasted
1 package (2 layer size) yellow cake mix
1 cup unsalted butter cut into small pieces

Pour pineapple & juice into baking pan. Add drained cherries & evenly distribute coconut over pineapple. Sprinkle cake mix over top & spread evenly. Cover surface with pieces of butter. DO NOT MIX.

Bake 45 minutes until top is browned.

Cool before cutting into squares.

Yum!! I made this tonight. It is a hit with my family. I do think the cake mix makes it too sweet. I may make my own 'cake mix' next time so I can cut out some of the sugar.

Awesome Sharon, glad you liked it, my gd's love this, in fact Im bringing one there Christmas because it was requested lol, along with cream cheese brownies. My daughter is always short on baking pans, so I bought her a nice Corning ware glass one, and am baking it in that, than she can keep the baking dish.Happy Holidays everyone
