Beer Bread

This is good and really quick to make.

3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
12 oz beer
1 egg, beaten

Adjust the oven rack to the lower middle position and heat the oven to 375 degrees. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add beer and stir with a fork just till combined. Turn the dough out onto afloured surface and knead quickly to form a ball. Put the bread on a baking sheet and slit an X on top with a serrated or very sharp knife. Brush the loaf with egg wash. Bake about 45 minutes or till golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. 12 servings

Craftchick has given this recipe a blue ribbon.

Congrats Catlover. My kind of bread. No yeast. Yeast and I don't get along. LOL

Thank you craftchick for being a recipe tester and testing this recipe.
