| Buttery Cheese Biscuits 1 dozen biscuits 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese 3 tablespoons baking powder 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or 1/2 Butter Flavor Crisco stick 2/3 to 3/4 cup milk Preheat oven to 425ºF. In large mixing bowl combine flour, cheese, baking powder and salt. Cut in Butter Flavor Crisco to form coarse crumbs. Gradually add milk, mixing with fork until particles are moistened and cling together. Place on a lightly floured surface and knead lightly. Roll to 3/4-inch thick. Cut with floured biscuit cutter without turning the biscuit cutter (push straight down). Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 425ºF for 10 to 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
