| Angel biscuits
as posted by vrsherren in WFD 05/06: Angel biscuits 3 cups flour 2 tesp. baking powder 3/4 tesp. salt 3 Tbsp. honey 1 tbsp. dry active yeast (1 pkt) 2 cups very warm milk 1/3 cup buttered flavored shortening Mix the yeast in with the warm milk let stand 5 minutes (I use Carnation's instant milk for this so I don't have to warm the milk) add Honey. In lg. bowl place all dry ingredients, cut in shortening till resembles course crumbs . Add yeast mixture and mix well to knead ( I have dough hooks and use them), or turn out on floured surface and knead 10 times. Allow to rise for 30 minutes covered and in a draft free area. Preheat oven to 375'. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Brush tops with butter |
