About this book

Funny, poignant, and completely real–a novel of poems that follows a year in the life of a teenage girl.

You walk into class–
my head clears.

No kidding.
You are my aspirin.

One girl. One school year. All poems. From friends to first dates, school dances to family fights, this inspiring collection captures the emotional highs and lows of teen life with refreshing honesty and humor. With an authentic voice full of wit and insight, Girl Coming In for a Landing is just like high school: impossible to walk away from unchanged.

"Dazzling...zings right to the heart. I can't imagine a warmer companion through adolescence."
-Sid Fleischman

"Honest, heartfelt, poignant."
-Sonya Sones

"An undivided pleasure to read."
-Michael Cart

“The value of doing something does not lie in the ease or difficulty, the probability or improbability of its achievement, but in the vision, the plan, the determination and the perseverance, the effort and the struggle which go into the project. Life is enriched by aspiration and effort, rather than by acquisition and accumulation.”

I am going to see if my library has this book.

My library does. Yay! I have a dd who isn't a huge reader. Something like this may interest her.
Thanks!
