I am reading The Shop on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber. I just recently "discovered" her at the library. This is the second or third of her books that I am reading.

Train, I read Broken for You this past year. I really enjoyed it.

Janet both those books sound good to me. Will have to remember them WHEN I run out of stuff to read. I keep getting books and friends give them to me. But that does not make me unhappy.

MONTE by himself

This book is about the life and work of Claude Monet. It is a collection of his own letters and a large selecton of his paintings, pastels and drawings. There are letters to fellow artists friends and loved ones. It follows his life through his first encounters to the final chapter of his life when He produced some of his most colorful work.
It is wonderful to see his paintings.

I just bought a book today. It's the first "for fun" book I've decided to read in a very long time. Actually since before my son was born. I used to read a lot.

The book I purchased is called "The Handmaid and the Carpenter" by Elizabeth Berg.

It's a short book. It is a story of Mary and Joseph as told through their eyes. I haven't read much of it so I can't tell what it will be like. I'll let you all know when I'm done reading it. I have only gotten as far as the two of them meeting, not quite betrothed.

I was given "Barefoot on Barbed Wire" by Cindy Morgan as a Christmas gift. On the cover it says "A Journey Out of Fear Into Freedom" and at first I didn't think I would like it but started reading and then found it hard to put it down. She talks about her life starting from childhood and her struggles as a Christian singer/songwriter in a way that makes it so that just everyday folk like me can identify with.

Dval, let me know how you like that book. I've seen it in the library but never picked it up yet.

Sueanne, the paintings shown in that book must be beautiful.
