Fiction Books--Your Top 3

What 3 Fiction books (including mystery, romance, suspense, etc.) would you keep if you had to get rid of ALL your others?

Mine would be:

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith

Hoopi Shoopi Donna by Suzanne Strempak Shea

Promises to Keep by John Mastandrea

If I REALLY had to, I could give up all of them except A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. That is my all-time favorite novel.

I have to agree about A tree Grows in Brooklyn. I first read it at about 14-15. Read it several times also read all betty smiths books. I guess I would have to say that would be in my top three list along with Gone with the wind.

I would keep The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. (Which is more than three books, lol)

Oh but I would have to weed through them, because I have an 80 year old copy of Anne of Green Gables that has to be kept, too.

Sammi, I've read a couple of those. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is my all-time favorite! Did you mean Talk Before Sleep by Elizabeth Berg?

The Marion Keyes I liked the best was Anybody Out There?

Barbszy, yup, I meant Elizabeth Berg. I don't know where my head was

Ok here I go again

Talk Before Sleep by Elizabeth Berg
Watermelon by Marian Keyes
Catcher in the Rye by J D Salinger
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
Charms for the Easy Life by Kaye Gibbons

I could go on and on listing books I truly love.

Oooh, hard question!
I guess I would have to say:
1. Anything by James Herriot, but okay then, All Creatures Great and Small.
2. Leota's Garden, by Francine Rivers
3. After Anne, by Roxanne Henke

I have no idea what I would choose. Two books that come to mind as favorites I don't think I even own & I'm not sure the 2nd is considered fiction but they are
The Secret Garden
The Hiding Place - which is a GREAT, life changing story, but a biography by Corrie Ten Boom.
This is very hard question for a bookaholic. I have lots of trouble letting go of any book. I have 3 shelves of books & 7 boxes of books & stacks of books all over the house. I need to get rid of a few. I digress.
