| I always RSVP if I am coming as I know what it is like to make a lot of food and games only to have only a few show up.
I have been accused of being mean, but when I ask for an RSVP, I usually also send it in the form of an email or tell the parent when I see them as the children I invite are children I know. If they show up and they didn't RSVP, I would just tell the parents they could run to the convenience store to grab them something to eat (if we are out of food). These parents are doing their children no favors by being irresponsible. The children need to know that if their parents do not respond, then they might do without. It may sound mean, but it is a valuable lesson for the children to learn, unless they are toddlers. |
