| Birthday Cake Tips
Use a piece of baking parchment cut to the size of your cake pan to make a template for a "shape" cake. You can use pencil to draw the shape you want on the parchment, then cut it out. Lay it on the cake and score around it with a sharp knife. Then finish cutting off the parts you don't need.
I don't usually make "shape" cakes but my daughter wanted a snowman cake for this birthday.
I made an 8" round cake for the face and a square cake to make the hat. I had to cut a few pieces out of the hat so I made a template with the parchment. Worked great.
