Good evening all!!

My signature dish for any occasion is my cabbage, onion, bacon and apple dish.

No real recipe - brown up as much bacon as you want, add as much onion as you want to the drippings and saute them. When soft, add 1 head chopped cabbage (long shreds, wide pieces, however you want to chop it). Big cabbage, little cabbage, depends on how many you are feeding. I don't add salt due to dietary constraints, but I do add some black pepper and a just a touch of cayenne. Not enough to make the dish hot-hot, just enough to make it interesting. When that starts to soften, add diceed, peeled apple. Large dice, and I use granny smiths because they hold up better. Again as much as you like, I usually use 3 medium to one smaller head of cabbage. I like my apple al dente sorta just warmed through. It gives a nice sweetness that balances the onion and cabbage.

Take care all!! Norma
