I just got back from Krogers and saw some creative ideas for summer cookies. Plain sugar cookies with Watermellon Icing or Cotton Candy Icing, wouldn't the kids go wild for those!! I'm guessing all you would need is food flavoring oil and mix with the frosting. They also had samples out of thumb size brownies that had white icing piped onto them and sprinkled with little red, white and blue candy stars... cute!!

Are those flavoring oils easy to find? I have peppermint, lemon, orange, anise oil and mapleine, but really haven't seen other flavors like Watermelon!
Take 2 slices of watermelon put vanilla ice cream on one and creamy peanut butter on the other slice. Sprinkle brownie crumbs on top of the ice cream slice and put slices together. My grandkids love this.

That is a excellant backup plan for when you can't find the flavoring oils. I know I intend later next week to use orange juice in place of water in a cake mix and add OJ to powdered sugar to make Butter Cream frosting but flavored orange ( I love those Hostess Cup Cakes that are orange flavored and hard to find).

Mix cake according to package directions. Spoon batter into 24 greased or paper-lined muffin cups, filling two-thirds full. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, egg and sugar until smooth. Fold in the chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls into batter. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until cupcakes test done.
