Nut Meats...

Barb,
I have a recipe that calls 4 nut meats, what in the devil is that???? I thought that it was just another way of saying nuts but not so...

Nut meats are the raw insides of the nuts. So for example, shelled walnuts. Does it specify what kind of nut meats you should add to the recipe?

If the nut has a little "skin" on it you should remove it before measuring and using the nut meats.

Barb, I thought that was what it meant but wasn't 100% sure...Recipe calls for" 8.5oz. pecan nut meats"...

Sounds like you are working on an old-fashioned recipe if they used that term. Get out your kitchen scale and get cooking!

whewwww, boy am I ever glad that I am done w this recipe. It was a mess but well worth the taste. From Mother's memory the recipe stands 2 b @ least 89 yrs old.... It was Orange-Pecan Sweet Loaf....oh well live and learn, lol
