What is a New Yummy Side Dish For Thanksgiving

We are having thanksgiving dinner at my mom's house.

Dan my stepfather is cooking the turkey and the homemade bread rolls.
Along with his famous apple cinamon pie

My mom is making some sort of jello salad proably and her pumpkin cheesecake.

Along with mashed potatoes

My SIL will be making some desserts to bring over also!

So i'm trying to figure out what side dish will fit for thanksgiving and really only 3 ppl like sweet potatoes so that stuff is out.

Squash would work for some but only 3 ppl like that also!

Looking forward to seeing any recipes that come from your question. Only 2 like squash here but if I decide to have it we will lol. We all love the sweet potatoes tho no matter how they are fixed.

First of all, especially if there are children attending this dinner, you can't go wrong with a raw vegetable platter. Carrots, bell peppers in different colors, maybe some broccoli, cauliflower or cucumbers, and celery with some ranch dressing or other favorite dip is always a hit. Best of all, you don't have to use the stove to get that prepared!

A crockpot full of baked beans is unusual but tasty. Kids don't always like stuffing, but they usually enjoy baked beans. Here's a favorite recipe of mine: Dr. Pepper Baked Beans.

Pickled Beets are an easy cold dish that travels well. Double this recipe for a Thanksgiving crowd:
PICKLED BEETS

2 cans sliced beets, juice reserved from ONE can
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup white vinegar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves

Mix juice, sugar, vinegar and spices in a saucepan. Stir over low heat until everything is mixed. Add beets and simmer 20 minutes. Chill until ready to serve.
And green vegetables would be a good addition to the menu you listed. Of course there's the tried and true Green Bean Casserole. Here's a low carb version.

Or why not try Peas Rustica or Asian Green Beans?

I checked and copied that green pea recipe and printed out two copies one for me and one for Stacie.
Steven does not eat any thing off of a veggie tray we can barely get him to eat a banana or piece of apple.
Gina Kent and Steven are going to one of our Seafood places that is all you can eat they will have turkey too so Steven can get his leg.

Mushrooms with bread stuffing

Does not feel like Thanksgiving without stuffed mushrooms. Can be used all year round for a special treat. It is only stuffed with italian flavored bread crumbs mixed with olive oil then stuffed into the mushroom. Baked in a roasting pan until golden brown. Never have enough once they start eating them.

Stuffed mushrooms ARE great! I always finely chop the mushroom stems and add them to the filling--no waste this way.

barbszy...I do use the stems too. Any leftover put in the pan around the mushrooms. Some mix goat cheese with the bread crumbs as an added treat. I try to find large mushrooms so there is more to stuff. They say not to wash the mushrooms but I do. Washing upside down so water does not get in the center. Dry they off so they do not get soggy. Start them off covered with tin foil so the bread crumbs absorb moisture, then let them brown uncovered.

I do make spaghetti squash into pies with sugar and cinnamon. Bet it would taste good cold with whipcream and maple syrup. What kind of squash do you use?
