I just got back from the coast where a French bakery served sandwiches and one of the choices was "Banquet" (spell?) bread, which I found out was just like a Submarine sandwich. I really like Philly Cheese steak sandwiches too but they are hard to find in this part of CA.

Apricot, probably the bread you're looking for is "baguette." Crispy outside, chewy inside. Perfect for a sub!

I agree with Charlotte 100%......The only place you to get a really good Philly Cheese Steak is in Philly!!!!

Yesterday I took Big DS on a college visit to LaSalle in Philly. It was an open house with about 250 prospective students attending. The school gave us all lunch: hoagies and CHEESESTEAKS! The steaks were really good, too Tastykakes and Philly pretzels were the dessert. It was a cute idea for the lunch.

Apricot, Tastykake is a brand of snack cakes that are made in Philadelphia. They have all kinds of snacks from cupcakes to coffee cake and more.
