Alton talks too much for me, I like RR, Bobby Flay. His food challenges are fun. We also enjoy the cooking contests and BBQ contests. I like Emril on Saturday mornings where he actual teaches how to cook something but not much on the evening shows. I like Paula but she makes too hungry. I get her magazine & it is very full of rich food also

I like Rachel Ray, because she make food that I would for my family. I like the concept of 30 Minuet Meals, as that is about all the time I have anyway.
Alton Brown is fun, interesting and has a strange sense of humor at times. I really enjoy watching Good Eats.
I also like Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. DH and I think that would be a great way to spend retirement--checking out all those little place around the country.

These are my favorites too. I enjoy watching all of Rachel Ray's shows. I love the crew on Ace of Cakes. They work so well together and have a good time. I like to see the dfferent Diner's Drive Ins and Dives. I think Guy does great job with the show.

DH likes Bobby Flay's Throwdown and Iron Chef.

And I love all of the holiday specials. Looking forward to the Christmas ones.

I'm a big fan of Rachel Ray and also Top Chef -- I love the combo of great food, fun, quirky people and competition!

I don't watch Barefoot Contessa and Sandra Lee very often, either. Contessa just... like the food she makes, I wouldn't make. Sandra, I'm not sure why I don't watch her, but I don't. Maybe it's an "uppity" thing.

I love to watch the Challenge shows, plus Bobby Flay's Throwdown (I wish it was coming back for another season) and most of the other shows.

Cooked, I'm not sure if they still show Ready, Set, Cook. One show my husband liked, and I thought was cute, was what's-his-name's Door Knock Dinners. The big Australian guy, Gordon something? who would knock on your door and have a chef make something for dinner out of whatever was in your house at the time? He did one where it was a competition between a college fraternity house and a sorority house, and the female chef for the frat house was none other than Paula Deen. It's the first time I remember seeing her on tv, and I just loved her.

Oh,I loved Door Knock Dinners too! It was a hoot to see what was in other peoples fridges! The meals were wonderful and sometimes very helpful. There is the new show of Take Home Chef on W network (?), but it is not nearly the same.

I'm a big fan of the Food Network, too. I hadn't seen it in the last 10 years (because it wasn't on our cable system when we lived in Wisconsin) but have become re-addicted now that we moved to PA.

I like most of the shows you all like -- I like Paula Deen on her regular show, but her "party" shows get on my nerves as she seems to be shrieking all the time. The same thing with Emeril -- I like his old show "Essence of Emeril" more than the "live" show. He's gone a little too "hollywood" on the live show for my tastes. It seems like he just keeps saying the same old used phrases all the time and pays less attention to the cooking.

I like Guy's Diners and Drive-ins show, but his regular cooking show "Big Bites" is not my favorite because of the same sort of over-used phrases and having several of his buddies in the kitchen with him just seems kinda odd.

I'd have to say Alton Brown is my favorite. I really like his style of information and cooking combined. I like Rachael's 30 minute shows and Ace of Cakes too.

I agree about Sandra Lee and Ina Garten. I like some of their shows, depending on what they're cooking, but the whole tablescape thing seems very contrived, and the "Hamptons" vibe is way out of my league, but Ina's cooking seems to be of high caliber. I have made a couple of Ina's recipes, and they worked out very well.

I remember "Ready, Set, Cook" from years ago, but I haven't seen it on the current schedule.

Liz

Hello all, I love Paula Deen also and get her magazine and have 2 of her cook books, watch Rachel Ray too every morn as a rule. Contessa is on now but don't like her all that much either. Have not watched some that you guys mentioned.
Mom and I use to watch Martin Yan and we both loved him
