If you like some citrus flavors in your tea, and you use loose tea in a tea ball; try putting a little zest (thin strips of peel wih NO pith) in your tea ball with the loose tea. The zest (strips of peel) will give that citrus flavor. Start out with a very small amount and increase according to your taste.
I zest lemons and oranges then freeze in a freezer bag. I can use it in my tea or in recipes calling for zest or peel.
I live near International Market tha has a wonderful selection of teas. Oe recomended to me was Ceylon tea brand name Alghazaleen. I really like it! comes in a 1 lb. brick so it needs to be kept in an airtight tea jar. He said not to store it in Tupperware as it will asorbe the plastic taste.

I have got into Red Bush tea by Tick Tock of South Africa. It was the type of tea drunk in the No1 Ladies Detective Agency and it is beautiful. Just drink it without sugar or milk.
I also like Breakfast Tea as it is quite strong. For a delicate tea I really like white tea.
For every day use, I have a glass tea pot with a built in mesh but I really love to use my porcelain tea pot with loose tea and a tea strainer, it is really the only way to take it.

I recently tried the Pure Leaf Sweet Black Tea and really like it. It doesn't have all the chemicals and additives that some of the other sweet teas do.

Sue, I've tried the Red Bush tea also and it is very good!
I've been shopping at an international market and finding all kinds of teas. It's fun to try them. I have several scones recipes and they are great with tea.
We had Black tea today with blueberry scones. Great afternoon pickmeup or snack.

Are we talking like tea bags? I drink the Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey but I do have flavored tea bags (can't think of the kinds) other than green tea....I see black leaf tea out there already mixed but don't know anything about it....wonder how chai tea tastes...looking for healthy teas especially now that I am "diabetic"

I don't care for chai tea by itself. When I visited my cousin she had mixed it with vanilla and another flavor tea that I can't remember but it was good.

I purchased a book about teas a few years ago, and chai tea is supposed to be taken with milk or cream. It's ok by itself, but it is better with milk, cream or coffeemate. It gives it a richer and smoother taste.
I like to have afternoon tea as a diabetic snack and pick-me-up. I have several scone recipes I can make and I use unbleached and or whole grain flour and Splenda as a sugar replacement. Splenda doesn't turn bitter.

Well, I will pass on that as can't stand milk or cream in my tea and just like it plain or once in awhile just a dash of lemon if it is regular black tea.
