Vivian, I had never thought about brewing tea in a coffee maker. What a great idea! I am asking the same thing Barb is asking - do you use loose tea with coffee filters or do you use tea bags and if so how many? I would imagine it is better to use a separate coffee maker just for tea to keep the flavor true.
Lol I use a coffee filter and loose tea in the "tea brewer" (my coffee maker). Tea bags are for single cups or regular tea pots around here. I do have several tea balls I use in the regular teapots for company......... just to show off my teapots . Today I needed an extra boost so I've got Irish Breakfast which takes very little as it is a strong or bold flavored tea. Its great with non-dairy creamer!
I used to really like a special tea blend called Russian Caravan, but I can't remember who made the one I liked. Used to come in cute little square cans.
When I am on a "tea kick," I can go through a couple pots a day! Among my other favorites:
Jasmine
Earl Grey
English Breakfast
Irish Breakfast
Lapsang Soochong
Assam
Afternoon Tea
I went on a Celestial Seasonings tea kick a few years back, and must have drunk 10 - 12 cups a day of various flavors. Really liked the **original** Red Zinger (they changed their recipe a few years back, and I haven't liked it since).
When making iced tea (I'm from the South), I use Luzianne, and make it strong and very very sweet. That's what Southern Sweet Tea is all about - strong and sweet and **cold**!!
Cheerio!
Elizabeth

I enjoy twinnings tea and peppermint tea, but when we have tea as a regular drink through the day we use PG tips loose tea leaves and stew them in the pot.

I bought some Irish Breakfast tea in an English tea shop in Maine and absolutely loved it! I wish I had remembered to go back to that store when I was on vacation so I could get more of it.

I personally love Twinings fruit infusions teas..its so aromatic and flavorful.
