Building A House From 100% Completely Recycled Materials
I was sent this link reported from a Texas TV station this guy is teaching people how to build a house completely from recycled materials that have been thrown away. I thought it was pretty cool, I especially liked the windows that were made from pickle relish trays!
That is sooo cool. Much better than Habitat for Humanity which is a good program but Dan, etc. can help more people. I can see this becoming a huge grass roots effort in every town to not through away any building material but to donate or sell cheap to build cheap solid housing.
Ok, I didn't klick on the link because it takes me too long to load videos, but another thing you might want to look up is Tiny Texas Houses. This guy builds little houses in a similar way. They are adorable & affordable & built to last. I think it is just tinytexashouses.com but you can google it.
So sorry that you didn't get to see this video, I understand I use to have AOL and it was slower than molasses. If you can find something to do at the computer while you wait, it's well worth it to see this hands on building... shows the guys whittling the wood for the staircases, recreating recyled tile pieces with a hammer and glue making them into mosiac designs.
I think I've seen that video or one similiar on my solar energy group lately.

Thank you for the both links, very inspiring. Too bad I can't build myself. The second website also has a link to Youtube videos for Organic Living Club by the same guy, owner & handyman of Tiny Texas Houses: http://www.youtube.com/user/OrganicT...7944C003161812

Me either but it does give me some ideas, ya never know what all that info. floating around in your head will come in handy. I look at several houses around my neighborhood that have odd placed windows high up towards the top of the ceilings and thought the other day... how cool would it be to have one of those beautiful green relish tray windows in those spots? And I love what he was doing with the birch for railings, wish he had a website with more details.
