What type of fall cleaning (inside and outside) do you do?

Do you do an annual fall cleaning? If so, what do you usually clean?

We were just talking about this. The week that the kids go back to school ( ) I rent a shampooer and do the carpets. I usually do the carpets every 6 months anyway, so this is perfect timing. 6 more months and it will be time to spring clean.

I pretty much do a spring cleaning when they go back to school. After 4 kids being home all summer and all the neighbor kids in and out of the house, it gets kinda grimy. I can't stand it! We have a bi-level with a full glass storm door. So all summer the door is left open with the storm shut and the dog lays there watching everything. So naturally it smells like dog by the front door too. UGH

I'll wipe down all the walls probably and clean under the couches. I'll probably vacuum under the beds and clean out the closets.

Ok I'm tired just thinking about it! Better go take a nap. LOLOL

I do everything. I sort through closets, basement, cabinets. Okay I try to do everything! Plus it is almost time to pack up the pool. We have the garage, a lean to and a storage shed that needs cleaned up. Then there are the flower beds and garden to clean up after it freezes. I may not do that this year cause I don't want to be here then! I am absolutly nuts about cleaning closets. At least three times a year. And dressers..... and the storage room.

I want to clean our carpets while the kids are in school, too. I've been cleaning handprints off the walls and doors. (Does this ever stop?!?)

I want to get outside and clean off our back patio--spiders are having a field day making webs!

And speaking of spiders...my DH found this hairy thing in our house tonight. I'm trying to find out what type of spider it is!! I think that I would've passed out if I would've found it. I have never seen such big bugs in all of my life until we moved to NC!!

Check it out....

... a big spider Tammi LOL

Coming out of summer and the kids are back at school is always a big clean, first being their rooms, top to bottom.
Then work my way around the rest of the house.

Tami, I'm wondering who or what he spider got into an argument with?? It seems to be missing a limb or two!! LOL

We don't have any carpets in this house ~ I love it! I vacuum under beds etc every couple of weeks. Clean out the linen cupboard at the change of warm to cool and then cool to warm weather (so maybe March and October). Getting ready for Christmas and school holidays is the biggest clean I do as I move almost everything around to decorate for Christmas.

We have a motto in our house and it applies to spiders and snakes. "Only good spider or snake is a dead spider or snake!"

We usually clean our carpets twice a year, fall and spring. We only have carpet in the bed rooms. I have tile in the bath rooms, hallway, kitchen area and laundry room. We have hardwood floors in the living room dining room and entryway.
I guess I have been spring cleaning lately. I am organizing everything it seems. I just feel better when everything has a place and everything is in its place. I do need to do windows, inside and out, and go over the woodwork. I have been so busy getting everything in its place. I need to get hot at moving the dust off the furniture and doing the everyday chores. Laundry is not a problem, I do it twice a week as I can't stand dirty clothes flowing over the top of the hamper.
Happy Housekeeping!
