LoriMae, I have been craving chili dogs!
Last night we had a Sicilian pasta dish called Pasta Con Broccoli Ariminate. It has cauliflower, not broccoli, in it, and it's a one-dish meal. There's no in-between--you either love it or hate it. We love it, and generally when I make it, we eat and eat just it until it's all gone. We also had it for lunch today and dinner tonight. Tomorrow will see the end of it. It's made with onions, raisins, pine nuts, anchovies, cauliflower and elbow macaroni. Sounds horrible, I know, but it is so good. DH's brother won't touch it, but his sisters love it.

Last night we had chicken dumplings at a school fair (dd's previous school).
The night before, dh had dinner waiting for us when we got home! He used cut up chicken, broccoli, onions and cream cheese mixed together and then made little packets with crescent roll dough. They were delicious and it was nice to come home to dinner all done!
Tonight, will probably have salmon since I have some in the freezer and that should be quick to bake.
Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday!

Good morning one and all, did not get to Costco yesterday due to Gina having to work on Adam's puter sooooooo hopefully will get there today to get my glasses and wonder if ours is having the "open house" thing sounds nice.
Last nites dinner was "what ever you see in fridge you want" Steven went home after we watched Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy so he ate there and slept there.
Tonites meal will be a "good question" time will tell.
Happy almost Thanksgiving everyone and God bless

Pasta Con Broccoli Ariminate
1 large onion, chopped
handful of raisins
handful (or 2) of pine nuts
2 cans anchovies
3 or 4 heads of cauliflower, cut up
1 lb. elbow macaroni
salt and pepper to taste
olive oil
While cauliflower is cooking in salted water (it seems to take a lot of salt), start onions browning in olive oil. To the onions add raisins, pine nuts, anchovies and black pepper. Be sure to break up the anchovies well. Add some of the water the cauliflower is cooking in to the onion mixture and let it continue to simmer covered until the cauliflower is tender. When cauliflower is tender, remove from water and add to onion mixture, stirring well. Continue to simmer mixture while macaroni is cooking in the water used for the cauliflower. When macaroni is done, stir in to mixture. Stir everything well, and let sit in covered pot about 10 minutes for flavors to blend. Makes enough for the Sicilian army. It will taste better the next day.

We had pizza last night here at home.
Tonight we are having turkey. Good thing that we like turkey since Turkey day is right around the corner. Bad planning on my part but at least we can eat in a lot of different recipes.
I am using up some extra hamburger to make meatballs. They are going in the freezer for one of next week's meals.

For breakfast we had scrambled eggs with cheese & turkey bacon all wrapped up in a warm tortilla.
For lunch we had hard and soft taco's with sour cream, beans, cheese, taco meat, and black olives. Peaches on the side. Leftovers from lastnight.
Dinner will be chicken-pot-pie.
Ingredients:
2 frozen deep dish pie shells set out on the counter to defrost.
2 frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts seasoned with garlic powder, salt, pepper and all purpose seasoning(no salt, sugar or MSG added) Cooked in 450 degrees oven for a total of 60-90 minutes. After the first 30 minutes take them out one at a time and cut them in half.
Heat up 1 can of cream of mushroom soup and up to a soup can of milk.
Add 1 to 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables WITHOUT lima beans to the soup.
When the chicken is done cut it up and add it to the soup. Mix well. Pour into one deep dish pie shell. Top with the other pie shell. Add butter to the top of the pie shell.
Bake in a 450 degrees oven for 20-30 minutes.
Enjoy.

Made Portugese Bread, Angel Cookies, and Lebuchken today. Ate most of the venison stew for lunch. Also made Mex Lasagna but only I had it. Both dds are off and running to football games, movies, and a school play tonight.
DH and I were watching the Royal Tenenbaums on tv and the Wendy's commercials got to us so I think we will have a rare night out at the fast food place. Our small splurge for making better savings this month than we thought we could.

Last night at my parents' we had roast pork, baked potatoes, green beans and fresh Italian bread. We can't get Italian bread "down here in South Jersey" as good as what you get in North Jersey. I wonder if it's a difference in the water--the basic recipe is the same everywhere! My dad showed the kids a piece of anthracite coal that he picked up while on his bike trip across PA this summer. He said they could see the coal vein exposed in the hillside. So he has about a 1 inch cube of coal as a souvenir. He also showed them some pictures from a Boy Scout camping trip he took in 1951, to the same campsite that Big DS visited a month ago. Today, I'm not yet sure what we'll have. This morning our church is having a "Bountiful Breakfast." It's pretty low cost for what promises to be a big meal, and each guest is expected to also bring a canned item for the food pantry. DH has been recruited as Chief Pancake Flipper, by his friends who are running the event. The kids and I will go there to eat. Later, DH is going someplace in PA to see "Enduro" which is kind of a demolition derby event, with our neighbor. So it will just be the kids and me for dinner.

Good Morning all,
Hope you all are enjoying a relaxing Sunday morning.
Pretty peaceful here for the moment. And deliciously COOL!!! Woke up this morning, and it was 60 degrees INSIDE my house.........WoooooooooooHooooooooooo!!! Slept like a baby!!! So glad to finally have some cool weather to enjoy and to FINALLY be able to shut OFF the airconditioner!!! I am known as the Polar Bear my our family and friends. I just LOVE this weather!!! LOL
We took our friend and his 83 year old mother to Costco yesterday. She had a blast.......she LOVED all the samples!!! I bought myself the new James Patterson book, and picked up a game for my son's Xbox 360. Put that away for him for Xmas though. And picked up some other odds and ends. Had a good day.
Today is football day here. Our Buccaneers play the Redskins today. Jeeeeeeeez, it would be nice if they could give us a win today, since we have only won 2 darn games this season!!!
We are having hot dogs and chips for lunch. Upside down meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn for dinner. And we bought another Eggnog pie from Publix. It is sooooooooooooooo good!!!
Have a great day!!!

Yesterday, at breakfast, my dgd spotted a picture of mushrooms (she just loves mushrooms and things like broccoli, cauliflower, frozen peas, etc.) on the menu and just had to have some. So, we ordered her a sideorder of sautéed mushrooms to go along with her eggs and bacon and was she ever happy! (Gigi's can do things like that you know! (()) ) Anyway, later when we were playing she decided that I must be hungry so she went to the fridge and got out a tomato and then grabbed the bread from the counter--placed the whole tomato between 2 slices of bread and brought it to me. And yes, she is only 3 yrs old, but man~~is she ever a character! Can you imagine what it will be like at my house when Hayden can walk? I'll surely get all kinds of goodies  between the two of them! I just love those grandbabies!!! :bighugs:

Oh my, Sueanne! I am so intimidated! I know you will add something and make it twice as good.
SanDansMom.....Don't feel intimidated by (Me) we Italians love to cook and experiment with food.
Talked to my Sister Roseanne this morning she is making something like your recipe without the macaroni but adds cherry tomatoes, and marinated artichoke hearts in the jar.
The trick is to add the anchovies over the cauliflower when it is hot so the anchovies melt. Some people don't like to see the big pieces. If you dip the anchovies in milk cuts the sharp taste before adding to mixture.
Fun to read different ways of preparing dishes.

We had leftover chicken pot-pie. Yum!Yum!
Nathanial requested chicken and dumplings for dinner tomorrow night. Tonight I'll put some of the ingredients for dough in my bread machine. In the morning I'll add the rest. I've never boiled a chicken so I'll use a can of chicken broth and a chicken bouillon cube and a soup can of water for the broth. Seasoned with pepper. When it comes to a boil I'll add balls of dough. Let it cook for 15-30 minutes. When they are done I'll add leftover chicken pieces. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes for the chicken to heat up. And enjoy with steamed broccoli.
I don't know when to add carrots and celery so I leave them out.
Monday will be a busy day for us. Field trip to make pizza at Stevi B's at 10:00am. School (yeah right), pick up Boy Scout popcorn after field trip, vet at 2:30, call orthodontist because my dh threw away Nathanial's retainer today at McDonalds, just the two of them went to lunch. An hour later Nathanial realized it was missing. So Nathanial, an employee and myself dug threw three trash cans looking for it and didn't find it. He just got it Thursday. :o( I need to call dh's allergist because 2 yo Amanda took his allergy shots meds out of the refrigerator I noticed them on the counter a week later, type up invoices, de-clutter dining room, Boy Scout meeting at 7:00. My day is full.

Here's my recipe, requested by Caronamy
POTATO CHEESE SOUP
3 to 4 cups diced (peeled) potatoes
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup diced celery
1/4 cup finely minced (or grated) carrot
2 chicken bouillon cubes
2 1/2 cups boiling water
4 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cups milk
1/4 lb. (1 cup) grated cheddar or American cheese
1/2 cup finely diced ham, if desired
1 tbsp. minced parsley
Combine potatoes, onion, celery, carrots, bouillon cubes and water in soup pot. Cover and simmer until vegetables are tender, about 15 minutes. Do not drain.
Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan. Blend in flour and salt. Add dry mustard and pepper. Gradually whisk in milk, whisking regularly, and cook until thickened. Add cheese and stir until melted.
Stir cheese mixture into potato mixture. Add ham, if desired. Reheat if necessary, add parsley and serve immediately.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Sueanne, I miss my mother and it really feels good to hear and read about your adventures with yours with the cooking, appts, and shopping and all. I like your meals too.
ellenmellon....She has gotten stronger since last March. Florida seems to agree with her. It is a full time job taking care of older people. She enjoys the out doors wants the fresh air no matter how cool it is.
Was thinking of letting her write a journal of all the things she can still remember about her youth

So far she is doing good on her special Coumadin diet.

Thank you for sharing the picture Sueanne.
We had Reuben's for dinner.
I used spreadable butter
8 slices of sour dough bread
thousand island dressing
1 cup well drained sauerkraut
8 thinly sliced pieces of corned beef
4 thinly sliced Havarti cheese
You butter one side of each slice of bread. Place the buttered side on a skillet.
Spread thousand island dressing on the bread.
Top 4 pieces of bread with the remaining toppings: sauerkraut, two pieces of corned beef, one slice of cheese. Put the four remaining bread slices on top of ingredients, butter side up.
Turn on the burner. Heat the four sandwiches until brown. Turn over & brown other side. Cut in half. Enjoy!

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts. Never did get a pumpkin pie made and the cornbread was a flop so we didn't eat that. Managed to make some gravy okay.
Brussels Sprouts for People Who Hate Them but will Eat Them When Made This Way:
Cut off the stalky end and make an X cut into the base of the sprout. Also peel off any ugly outer leaves.
Drizzle oil in baking pan, Walnut Oil is very good if you have it.
Toss sprouts in the oil.
Add 1 cup of cranberries, dried or fresh or frozen.
Drizzle all with honey and then with maple syrup.
Slow roast in oven, 350F for 40 minutes, uncovered, tossing every 15 minutes so all is evenly coated. The sugars will be sort of goopy but not burnt in the pan.
Put into serving dish and top with 1/2 cup or so of walnuts.

Started preparing everything early since DS likes to eat and run. Has a new girlfriend so has to get back when she finishes eating with her parents. Glad he is feeling better not laying around in pain.
DH said glad you like to cook.
Cooked a twelve pound fresh butterball turkey with stuffing and stuffed mushrooms, broccoli & sweet potatoes. Used my black enameled roasting pan with a cover.
Coated the turkey with olive oil and some orange juice squeezed from the orange itself. Inside put apple slices.
The stove top stuffing was good but a little to salty for me. DS likes homemade better.
Since the pots and pans were all done early set the Dining room table with Holiday table cloth and dishes. Always enjoy the meal more when it is spread before me.
Mom should be coming back with Sister for coffee, cake and chatter.
Dh took some time to cut some oranges from our tree in the back.
Always give Mom an orange every morning. The frost we had helped turn the oranges a brighter orange.
Nothing like the taste of fresh fruit.
My papayas are still doing good frost did not effect them.
Should be in the eighties by the weekend.

Shelley, I LOVE Reuben sandwiches!! I prefer a good spicy mustard on mine instead of Thousand Island, though, and pile on that sauerkraut! YUM! OK, now I need some rye bread so I can make one for lunch.
Ellen, I'm the only Brussels Sprout eater here. They're a favorite of mine. :) I'm going to share your recipe with my neighbor who also likes them!
I couldn't get on FC at all yesterday; with all the rain we had my internet just wouldn't connect. :bawl: Here's what we had for Thanksgiving:
Appetizers:
raw vegetable platter
potato chips and dip
pretzels
pistachio nuts
cheese and cracker tray
Dinner:
roast turkey
sausage stuffing
mashed potatoes
mashed rutabagas
cranberry sauce
fresh green beans
homemade rolls
gravy
Dessert:
homemade apple pie
coconut custard pie
My DD was a big help to me this year. She peeled all the apples for the pie, peeled some of the potatoes for me (after doing all the other peeling, chopping, slicing and dicing my right arm muscles went into a giant cramp about halfway through the poatoes), and prepped the green beans. :) It was nice having her help in the kitchen. She is going to grow up to be a good cook.
There's plenty of everything left. I have to figure out what to do with these leftover mashed potatoes....and I'm trying to decide what I'll make for dinner tonight. Maybe a pot pie....turkey of course!
Barb, I had to laugh about the mashed potatoes, dd#1 made them from scratch ( I always use boxed with creamcheese added) and guarded them when her sisiters were making care packages for themselves. She said "no way I'm sharing these, your lucky mom made me share for the meal. We all laughed as we remembered how she was like that with my mom's real mashed potoatoes when she was little. we had a good day remembering my folks & my dh's and all my kids memories. It is nice to pass them down & my dgd loves hearing about when mom & aunts were little.

Sueanne - we did a citrus turkey also and it was the best turkey I have ever had, even the dark meat. I guess I used tangerines, onion, carrot, celery, limes and soy and butter. No herbs this time.

If I cook them and put them on the plate the kids will eat them but won't seek them out. I tell them it's only one sprout what can that hurt eat it with your mashed potatoes LOL Then next time 2 sporuts etc etc.

We had leftovers. For me and DH, I made "turkey bowls" like Kentucky Fried Chicken has. Bottom layer was stuffing, then turkey cut in bite size pieces, then mashed potatoes, then gravy, corn and a little bit of shredded cheese. It was like Thanksgiving in a bowl. I ate WAY too much and forgot the cranberry sauce!
Most of the rest of the leftover turkey and stuffing is going in the freezer. I have enough turkey for 2 more dinners and stuffing for 3 (the kids don't eat it). I also have rutabagas to freeze. I'm going to use some of those Tupperware hamburger-patty containers for those, since I'm the only one who eats it. This will give me "individual portions."

Leftovers might take the form of a turkey pie with crust or turkey soup and then freeze the both, think there is enough for double portions of each.
The stuffing turned out so well there aren't any leftovers. We ordered one of the KFC bowls to see how they were and we will make them at home from now on like Barbszy did. KFC also offers a rice bowl so if there are no mashed potatoes left, we'll line the bowl with rice.
I am the only one who likes roasted parsnips with carrots so I am used to eating them all myself too. How do you season those rutabagas Barbszy? My palate is just mature enough now to take them on! I didn't grow up with them and missed out.

Venison tastes similar to beef--it can sometimes taste a bit "gamey," but usually has very little of that taste if cooked properly. Plus it's a lot lower in fat than beef, so that's a good!

Hello everyone, I wanted to share an old favorite recipe. I love making this on a day when my house is feeling cold..it warms it up!
Janet
Sticky Chicken
Serves: 4
This roasted chicken gets its sticky coating from the juices it releases while being baked.
INGREDIENTS
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 ready-to-cook 1 lb. roasting chicken
1 cup chopped onion
DIRECTIONS
1. In a small bowl, thoroughly combine all the spices.
2. Remove giblets from chicken; clean the cavity well and pat dry with paper towels.
3. Rub the spice mixture into the chicken, both inside and out, making sure it is evenly distributed and down deep into the skin.
4. Place in a re-sealable plastic bag, seal and refrigerate overnight.
5. When ready to roast chicken, stuff cavity with onions, and place in a shallow baking pan.
6. Roast, uncovered, at 250° F for 5 hours. After the first hour, baste the chicken occasionally (every half hour or so) with pan juices. The pan juice will start to caramelize on the bottom of the pan and the chicken will turn golden brown. If the chicken contains a pop-up thermometer, ignore it.
7. Let chicken rest about 10 minutes before carving.

BuddyBeanieBaby~I love snow! We don't hardly get it here where I live, but they have predicted a possible "wintry weather mix" for Thursday! Maybe even some sleet, as the temps are going to drop from today's high of 79º to a projected high of only 39º on Thursday with that precipitation! For us, that is way :brrrrrrrr , especially considering how HOT our summers are!! But do I ever look forward to our cooler weather!! Can't get too fond of it~~by Tuesday the temps are going to be back up around 60º. From where a lot of you live, you are probably cracking up that we think anything below 45º is really cold! If you really wanna good laugh, you should see the run on the grocery stores tomorrow afternoon!
Barbszy~~Hot & Sour Soup saves me most times when I have a cold or sinus infection! Hope your Egg Drop does the same magic!
Tonight was pot roast, carrots & new potatoes.
Blessings to all

Barb, hope you're feeling better soon. Maybe it's something in the air there -- I just talked to DH in Pa, and he has a cold now. Boo!
Debbie, I'm a big fan of Hot and Sour Soup, too. I've even made it myself -- I doctored a Martha Stewart recipe. Hmmmm, maybe some would ward off the spirits of colds to come????? Sounds like a good idea for dinner tomorrow.
Tonight's dinner was a taco salad to use some of the taco meat left from the weekend.

Maybe it's this unseasonably warm weather Barbszy! It just won't kill off any germs! I hope the soup helped you feel better. I pumped zinc lozenges and vitamin C into the kids today just as an after Thanksgiving preventative.
We had the rest of the mashed potatoes or a roll with hot turkey and gravy over it. Also bought some clementines that I see the girls are consuming as they do their homework this evening.

We found some jars of home canned marinara sauce from fresh tomatoes that I canned before we moved to Arizona. So today we had angel hair pasta with marinara sauce.
Later tonight we had an Italian style tomato salad with bakery rolls. Garlic and olive oil on the tomatoes. Good, but potent! Dutch apple pie (Sara Lee and me) afterward.
Barbszy, hope you feel better, I always want hot sweet tea when I'm down. Just like my mom made it in special china tea cups.
Ellen, Arn't those clemintines good this year? we are on our 2nd box. I'm hopeing they keep the viruses away. This warm weather is not helping. We are suppose to get snow tomorrw but today the high will be 65 degrees. Crazy for the end of Nov.
Today is dd#2 b-day so she is coming over for her fav meal. Pork roast, brown potatoes, bushetta and a zuke cassarole. All 3 dds will be here to help her celebrate. I have to be sure and make enough to have more of those care packages. That's what my mom always called them Barbszy. I hope everyone starts feeling better.

Me too, we pack out leftovers too. I save 32 oz yogurt containers and those gladware things just for that reason! Wouldn't be a family meal without doing this.
Made up a crockpot of beef vegetable cabbage with some leftover turkey meat too. Need to doctor a little more before dinner. Have some rolls with it.
The clementines will be followed by the winter strawberries from Florida, woo hooo!

Barb sorry to hear you ar feeling under the weather, hope it passes quickly!!!
Theresa funny how we are in the same province yet we have had unseasonly warm temps so far. Thurs is suppossed to be a high of 17 here. We have yet to have snow. I am enjoying it but know when the cold and snow hits it will be a shock!! Hope you are all okay!
Supper last night was out at a restaurant with my girlfriend who was home for leave from Afghanistan. We celebrated her birthday since she was overseas for it.
Tonight dinner is leftovers from our supper last night and salad here as it is parent teacher interviews this evening.
It looks like we will be having more dinners out then in over the next few weeks with all the christmas parties and friends homes we are going to!

Tonight was suppose to be cheezy scallopped potatoes & ham, but I don't think I'm up to peeling all those potatoes. Been under the weather all week. Had lasagna on Sunday and the last few nights been eating leftovers. Maybe something quick in the microwave. have to run son up to college for an evening class tonight.

Lisa, no the house is not on the market yet. Sigh. I have one room that needed a lot of TLC before I felt I could list the house. (It's the third bedroom/office and it had awful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle wallpaper when we bought the house, and I wanted to redo it back then, but DH was too anxious to get his books unpacked and installed on shelves from floor to ceiling, so then it was always a major deal when I'd mention removing the wallpaper.) Sooooo, now I felt I really had to get it down. Wednesdays are my day off work, so I spent today scraping the backing from the wallpaper off two of the walls. (DS and I got all the vinyl top layer off when he was home this weekend).
And DH really likes his new job -- he says the people are wonderful and the tasks he's been given are interesting.
Anyway, back to the real topic, dinner tonight was homemade Hot and Sour Soup. Very soothing and warm after my day of battle with Ninja Turtles!

Made center cut pork chops in the turbo cooker tonight. Just put some bread crumbs for flavor and a little oil. They come out so tender. Hormel does have good pork chops.
Cut the tops off peppers and stuffed with chopped up peppers & tomato mixed with bread crumbs & a little oil. Poured some tomato sauce over them and cooked covered in the microwave for about fifteen min. Didn't have time to put in the oven but they turned out pretty good cooked this way. Was surprised Mom ate the whole pepper. Next time will use rice in the mix. Also made sliced mushrooms & leftover stringbeans.

Maryann, A pasty is a type of pie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pie),(individual) It is a baked (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baking) pastry case traditionally filled with diced meat and vegetables.
The ingredients are uncooked before being placed in the unbaked pastry case.
Traditionally, pasties have a semicircular shape, achieved by folding a circular pastry sheet over the filling. One edge is crimped to form a seal.

Janet, those sound really good. I'll have to get a recipe and make some. Only I cheat with pie crusts, I buy them premade.
Dinner tonight will be chicken legs. Wish I could grill them, like Tami's, but the grill is out of gas. So, I'll bake mine and use homemade BBQ sauce. Since we had potatoes and mixed veggies last night, I may make rice or noodles as a side.

The chicken was very good. I made noodles and sauce.
I found a head of cabbage way in the back of the fridge. I really should clean it out more often, all kinds of neat stuff in there.
Well anyway, now I can make another cabbage soup. I love cabbage soup, and it's great for weight loss.
I will make this one a little different. Lots of celery and tomatoes and garlic, onions, basil and thyme. Oh boy.

We got that winter blast they promised! Went from 79º yesterday to 28º today. We actually got the freezing rain, then sleet and finally a little bit of snow. Not enough to build a :snow3: but still pretty!

It got really cold here today, too. Yesterday, it was 55°F and today at lunch time it was 16°. Brrrrrr!

Lisa, I have two walls completely cleared, and the other two have the vinyl part removed and I just have to scrape the paper backing part. I gave myself tonight off. My one knee gives me grief when I overdo it, and I obviously overdid it yesterday, so I think I'll take it easy and finish on Saturday.

DD1 and I had a dinner adventure tonight. I picked her up from art club at 5 and just as we pulled into the driveway she said, oh we forgot to drive by the north building so I could get my lunch, I said, okay and we'll just go get a pizza now that we have to make a return trip instead of doing one at home (I know not frugal at all). So we went to get the pizza ordering from Dominoe's in the car on the cell phone.
But then I saw the Korean restaurant next door and while waiting for the pizza (they were so slow it was like a time warp in the pizza place) I ordered what I thought was an innocent selection from the Korean menu. We had just watched the Top Chef show last night where they served Korean food and I thought it might be worth it to make a small try. It ended up being some sort of beef and noodle soup thing when I thought it was going to be a stir fry so I don't even know that I got what I ordered for takeout.
But making the side dishes choices took me forever. And everything was so different. There were 8 choices and only the pickles looked familiar. I tried the kimchee, a kind of spicy pickled cabbage, and it was all right. I tried the potato salad, it had apple pieces in it and it was very good, chilled. And then I tried this thing that looked like thin slices of tofu but it was fish. And it was decent, so those were the side dishes. At which point the dd1 came in and asked what happened to me and where was the pizza.
So we went over to get the pizza and she wanted brownies so that was another 10 minutes. Then the Korean food was ready -- before the pizza order! I told you the Dominoes was slow. 45 minutes later we had a pizza, brownies, and some strange looking soupy thing with what looked like already chewed beef floating in it. Once home I tried the soup and decided to let it sit until tomorrow. Now I am having a cup of blueberry and cream tea. Maybe now sleep will come.
It felt like the whole evening was something out of the Time Warp Trio books. By the time we got our food the school hallways would have been gated off so no lunch box pickup happened.
Odd rainy evening it was. I think I had dinner. Perhaps my idea for a burger earlier in the week would have been a better choice? But then there would have been no new adventure.

Made salmon tonight with butternut squash & cauliflower. The butternut was delicious made in the microwave. Didn't even need butter it was so sweet.
Made Dh a birthday cake in the microwave. In eleven minutes the bundt cake was done. This time used a butter flavored cake with real butter shortening. Used chocolate frosting on the cake as it cooked.
Mom said it was the best cake I have made. Need some company to help me finish it.
