Hi everyone
Here we are, November 2009. It's been two years since something pretty significant happened here at FC. I've kept it quiet because I didn't want anyone to panic, but it's time to shed some light on things for everyone.
Back in November of 2007 I sold the FC website and forums to a company called Internet Brands. You have undoubtedly noticed that we now have a "tech support staff" as well as a community manager (ibsteph). Internet Brands is a very large company, they own many different websites. Therefore, when there are technical issues etc, we are placed in the queue just like all the other sites that they own.
My sale agreement included me staying on as editor of FamilyCorner.com for two years. That time is almost up (Dec. 31st), however, I wanted everyone to know that I will still be working for FC and Internet Brands after that date passes. I also work for several of their other websites, doing newsletters and other various functions.
As you can see, Internet Brands did not come in and take over and change a bunch of things. There philosophy is to allow forum communities to continue, uninterrupted and come in when needed. I think that's pretty much been the case here. A lot of times when I site sells, members worry there will be a bunch of changes, rules will get implemented, etc. That's not the case here as you can see. It's been two full years and you didn't even know
So anyway, I wanted to let everyone know what was going on with FC and that there's nothing to worry about as far as things go here. There are no plans for any changes, though HOPEFULLY an upgrade will be in our future one of these days.
Meanwhile, I thought I would let you know what I have been up to in the background for the last couple of years. At first I thought I would do other things, or maybe go out and get a full time job. My kids didn't like that idea, and the more I thought about it, neither did I. So instead, I started a blog. That blog turned into 2 blogs, my cooking & baking blog,
