Wrap your celery in tinfoil unwashed, then put it back in the plastic sleeve. This makes it last a really long time.

Do you know how to get rid of tinny-tasting canned tuna? Try a cold water rinse, or soak the tuna for 15 min in a mix of two tablespoons of white vinegar and a tablespoon of sherry before rinsing.

When freezing casseroles that contain pasta, don’t cook the pasta completely before assembling the casserole. It will finish cooking when you heat the casserole later.

Add a dash of baking soda when you’re making iced tea. It reduces bitterness.

If you run out of sour cream for tacos, add some cream cheese to the taco meat.

Break each egg individually into a separate container. If you happen to have a bad egg, you’ve only lost one—not the whole dish.

How to sub 1 cup sugar for maple syrup in any recipe: Use 3/4 to 1 1/4 cup maple syrup (to your taste), decrease liquid in recipe by 2-4 tbsp per cup because syrup has more moisture. Add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp baking soda (do not add soda if using buttermilk, sour milk or sour cream). Finally, decrease oven temp by 25 degrees.

Add a pinch of Salt to the coffee in the basket of your coffeemaker. This will improve the coffee's flavour by helping to remove some of the bitter taste.

When you have a recipe that calls for measuring a sticky substance like honey, corn syrup etc. spray a little pam on your measuring utensil...the syrup will all slide out perfectly, not leaving any behind.

Easy way to roll out pie dough: take 2 sheets of Waxed Paper. Place your pie dough or Pierogi dough on one sheet. Place the second sheet over top. Start rolling out your dough...when your pie crust is rolled out, remove the top layer of waxed paper and put your pie crust in your pie plate, remove the second piece of waxed paper...that is it...no mess!
