Bilby has won the crown for accumulating 5 Crafting Tips:

TIPS

Printing Pictures for Scrapbooking: As long as you print on acid free paper, you can tons of pics from the internet. I Google images when looking for something specific, print and cut out. You can also use pics from printable card programs, clip art...etc

Instead of buying expensive anti-static wiping cloths for a clean, fingerprint-free glossy photo, after carefully adhering your photo give a gentle wipe over with a clean dry make up removal pad; they come in a bag of 20 or 30 for a much cheaper price.

Don't have a light box? In a pinch you can try a clear pie or casserole dish upside down and putting a small turned on flashlight underneath. Small domed lights that run by batteries are great.

Have too many photos that can't be used for albums? Outline the letters of the place you visited on the back with a pencil and cut out with scissors, turn over, organize in order and you will have a nice title page.

To prevent tangled thread when sewing by hand, knot each strand separately instead of knotting them together.

Happy6 has earned a Queen's Crown for winning 5 Family Time Tips Awards!!

Here are her award-winning tips:

Kids and Restaurants: Carry a food decorator pen with
you, look in the baking aisle of the grocery store. Give
each child one while they are waiting for their meal.
They draw on the bread sticks, or crackers and even
the rolls then they can eat their art!

If someone falls into the water, grab a closed, empty soda
bottle, (2 or 3 liter) and throw them toward the person in
trouble. A cooler with a closed lid will also work. The soda
bottle tucked under each arm and will keep you afloat till
help arrives.

Homemade butter- In a small jar, fill half way with heavy
cream & a small pinch of salt. Close the jar and let the
kids shake the jar. Once cream begins to thicken, usually
after 10 min, refrig for about 15min. If there's any liquid on
top, pour it off.

Using a lg. balloon, blow it up to stretch it. Use a funnel to
add 1/2 c. dirt & 1/4 c. water. Add quick germinating veg.
seeds. Blow up balloon & tie. Hang over your kitchen window
to watch the seeds grow. When the plants are big enough,
pot them.

Get a small glass or jar to plant seeds in, but sow a couple
seeds against the side of the glass. The child can then watch
the seed form roots and see the sprouts. Now he can see
what's going on with the seeds covered in dirt.

Bilby has earned her second Queen's Crown for Crafting Tips!!

Here are the second set of award-winning tips:

Having trouble sliding your needle into your fabric? Like
nappy pins you can give it a slide along your scalp through
your hair. Your natural hair oil is enough to let your needle
slide through your fabric easier and not leave any tell tail
marks.

Want glittery flowers or shapes from your punches? Don't
use glue to stick your glitter on, just run it through the Zyron
sticker maker: sprinkle with the glitter and press down, then
run through the Zyron again glitter side up.

To store little bits and pieces use an old muffin tin, insert
in your drawer or on a shelf to find and look at things in a
flash.

Now that the holidays are approaching, keep those Halloween,
Thanksgiving and Christmas cards and decorations to cut up
(words and pictures) and use for embellishments on your pages.
They are fine as long as they don't touch the photos.

Make a notice board out of a photo frame. Take out the glass
and wooden back. Cut a piece of board and adhere some cork
to the backing board. Glue the frame onto the finished corked
board. Staple strong string to the back to hang off a hook.
