Minny has earned a Queen's Crown for earning 5 Cooking Tips Awards!

Here are her award-winning tips:

When browning hamburger, brown a whole pkg and
freeze the rest in freezer bags after it cools. Next time
you need meat for a meal, take out as many bags as
you need, pop it in a pan & add sauce, gravy, etc.

Pickles are fairly easy to make: use the smaller
cucumbers for whole pickles & slice the bigger
ones. Pack the pickles in a jar. Make the store
bought pickle mix really hot & pour over the
cucumber slices in the jar, seal & leave them
set.

When I make cookies, I always put a slice of
plain bread in the bottom of the container that
I'm storing them in. This keeps the cookies soft.

When I use Shake & Bake, I usually do 2 or 3
pieces of meat. I don't need all of the coating mix.
I pour some out on a paper plate & what I have left,
I put in a resealable baggie & put it back in the box.
I get two meals from one package of coating mix.

When baking cakes, line your cake pan with waxed
paper, spray it with cooking spray & bake. When
done, turn it out on a cooling rack & peel the waxed
paper off immediately. You don't have a messy cake
pan to wash.

RobertaD has earned a Queen's Crown Award for earning 5 Frugal Icon Awards!

QUEEN'S CROWN AWARD
RobertaD has earned a Queen's Crown Award for earning 5 Frugal Icon Awards! Check out her award-winning frugal tips:

1. Check into every store that you shop at and ask if
they have a shopper card or some other frequent
shopper discount program. Even the thrift bread
stores have a deal but you have to have a card."

2. Wash in cold water using 1/3 C vinegar as the
fabric softener (bought by the gallon) and use 1/2
of the recommended detergent.

3. Get your vet to write a prescription for "people
medicine" for your dog. It's usually much cheaper
than animal medicine and can do the same job.

4. To save on printer ink, change the system setting
on your computer printer to print in "fastdraft" setting
instead of "normal or best".

5. I dilute liquid dish soap and use to refill the hand
soap containers. I use 1/4 Dawn and 3/4 water.
