Guess Who Game

There's a mystery woman (or man) floating around our FC community! Can you guess who it is?? Each week, a member will be secretly chosen by one of our head moderators to be our mystery member. They will go by the member name "Can You Guess?" and you will be able to ask one question per member per day. You have one week to narrow down the fields and guess who the member is behind the mask!

If you guess correctly, you will win a fun "I guessed it!" icon for your Member Awards in your signature file!

Ask any questions you like (they must yield a "yes" or "no" answer) to try and figure out which member is hiding behind this secret identity. Remember, one question per person per day, so make it a good one and remind your other FC friends to join in the fun so that everyone has more clues each day.

The secret member will be revealed each week here, so be sure to check back if you didn't figure it out!

RULES - VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ BEFORE PLAYING!

The following are important rules you must adhere to in order for the game to remain fair and fun for everyone. Thank you!

• You may ask one question per day, must yield a yes or no answer. That should be posted on the thread specified for the current week.
• You may have one guess per day that must be submitted through THIS FORM, do NOT post your guess on the boards!
• Be fair, don't try to PM or email the secret member privately. You will be caught! All emails directed at the secret member are sent directly to Amanda and Tami and the secret member cannot receive private messages
• Also, our secret members will be fair and won't reveal their identity privately, they must be guessed.
• Our secret member may also come on as their regular user name and ask questions! So be wary!
• You may view user profiles to try and figure out who they are. For example, see how many kids they have, do they have pets, where do they live, etc.

Addendum: Just so everyone knows,We will not be revealing the mystery member until the end of the game (Thursday nights) and we will not tell anyone if they won until that time either Gotta keep you in suspense!!

Incidentally, if more than one correct guess comes in, the first one that arrives will be the one that is awarded the icon. So for example, if 4 people guess correctly, whoever filled out the form first will win (my forms are date and time stamped).

Update: 09/03/05

IMPORTANT CHANGE to this game. I'm afraid we will have to eliminate any questions that would indicate the mystery person as a moderator or assistant moderator as it just narrows the playing field down WAY too much. If someone asks if the person is a moderator and we only have 4 of them, what's the fun in that? From here on out, if a question is asked in this fashion the mystery guest won't be allowed to answer. Thanks for understanding!! We want to keep this fun

NEW RULES FOR WINNING AN "I GUESSED IT" ICON:

We will take the first repeat winner AND the first non-repeat winner. So let’s say Sally guessed it first, but she has already won before. She would be the repeat winner that gets an award. Let’s also say that the second and third correct guesses came in from repeat winners but the fourth correct guess is from someone who hasn’t won yet. We would skip over those two repeats (since Sally already won the repeat) and we would move down to the next guess from a non-repeat. Does that make sense?

So let’s also say that the first correct guess comes in from someone who has never won before and the second correct guess comes in from Betty. Well we would only pick a repeat if they came in with the FIRST correct guess. In this particular case only the non-repeat winner would get an icon.

This will give more opportunities new winners every week!


Members who earn 5 correct guesses will win a Guess Who Champion Award!!
