| Crazy, I am so sorry for your situation. I know that grandparent rights vary from state to state and some state don't even acknowledge their rights at all. So, you may be out of luck there. However, if the primary parent in charge of the care of your grandchild is neglecting his needs because he is developmentally behind, you should call whatever state agency is over abuse/neglect and turn her in as soon as you get her address. In Texas is is Child Protective Services. They should make an unannounced visit and inspection. Then they will go from there. If they deem that the child's needs are being neglected, they can order her to take the child in for a check-up, to see a psychologist, or any number of things. Good luck! |
