When Andrew was younger, we only called him Andrew. Today, if someone calls here asking for Andy I put my dh on the phone. If they ask for Andrew, they get my son. Makes it confusing sometimes, LOL.
Today he is Andrew, or Buddy.

My hubby has a brother and father who share the same name, I hate it. When in converstation I will say names and know who I mean but the other person can figure out who I'm taking about so I woulnd't name a child after a parent, grandparent or other yes but not in the same house.
We all have names that can be shortened in our house but I don't shorten them except mine. Hubby gets Dave, ds1 just gets Duffy (among friends he has no first name) and Cameron gets Cameron .... a boring lot aren't we ? LOL
