chuckle Re: Christian Gatherngs...

Love many of the ideas, that have been posted here. The only one that I can come up with, is the using of the Bible Trivia Game. I am not even sure, if they still sell it or not, but I know that it is really a FUN game and very challenging.

Have the women compete against the men or one/two couples against one/two other couples or mix all the couples up and put them on different teams. The most important thing, is to simply relax and enjoy yourselves. It doesn't matter who wins and who doesn't...plus, you learn more about the Bible in the process. I rather like that.

At our mom's group one night, we had everyone bring their wedding album. They shared any funny stories, etc. It was a great way of getting to know each other. Everyone felt it was one of the best nights we ever had. We also had game nights and movie nights (rented a video).

How about a craft night? If the fellas don't want to participate, they could do something else while you're crafting.

Sounds like a lot of fun.

At Christmas time, our group of about 22 couples in their mid thirties to midforties played a game where my husband and I ahead of time chose single words from Christmas songs like bells, snow, Christ. We placed these in a basket and divided the group into teams of about 6 players each. One team would draw a word and have to sing a Christmas song or a good enough portion that contains the word. Play would move to next team who also had to come up with a different song with the same word and continued around from team to team until a song couldn't be thought of. The next new word starts with the team #2 and continues so that each team gets an opportunity to start a new word. I don't remember how we did points but our group got quite competitive about it (in a friendly way). We had so much fun!!!

Hey that sounds like fun for even a large family gathering - thanks for the great idea!

rainequilts:

I like the wedding album idea too - that could be really fun if you have stories like we do!

MmeMoxie:

I have heard of that game before - I will have to check that out the next time I'm in the Christian Book Store.

Thanks everyone!

Shelly, believe me--everyone has a story!

My dh's brother poked him in the eye at the wedding reception. We ended up at the emergency room to have it checked out. As I signed the release papers, I fainted.

Thanks for the web link - I'll be sure to check it out!

I also want to check out the other one mentioned - the Ungame. Some of the people coming are relatively new in the Lord and I'm not sure that a trivia game will work very well with them, but it will be great for our other group of old timers!

I just came from a bridal shower at our church where three teams tried to dress a "bride" with toilet paper. It was a great time.

Hope everyone is having a blessed day.

Shelly
