I have read Adopting the Hurt child by Keck.. its a pretty good book, and we have tried some of the tips in the book, but I have to tell you its HARD dealing with RAD kids!
Yes, my husband and I do get out occasionally, but not as much as we would like to or need to, and we live in Wisconsin.

Hi, I am so sorry. I know exactly what you are going through. Here are some books on RAD that you might find helpful: When Love is Not Enough by Nancy Thomas, Children who Shock & Surprise by Elizabeth Randolph, and Therapeutic Parenting, Its a Matter of Attitude, by Deborah Hage. All faily small books, and easy to read. I keep saying to my husband, we should adopt a child as there are so many children out there with out parents. He always says you 'there is a lot more to it than just compassion'.
After reading all this I see what a hasty statement mine was! Of course I still feel people like you are dearly needed in the world and if every body thinks like my husband, the world would be a much worse place than it is now... But this thread has been such an eye openenr for me!
