Thanks Carol it was wonderful. It did cost a lot of money when he lost the keys, for a locksmith to get in the rental car and the charge for a new room key was $75 dollars. But it is something to laugh about now and I cherish the memory costly though it was.

Twenty-two years ago we spent a week driving from Memphis where we married to the Natural Bridge Virginia and the surrounding areas of the mountains and down to Gatlinburg TN. Then we came back home where my mother in law had their boat packed with camping gear and we spent another week at Enid Lake in Mississippi camping and fishing. It is some of my fondest memories of those early years of marriage.

MY honeymoon ...... we stayed at a posh hotel the first night then we went to a friends beach cabin at Byron Bay, (known for it's hippy lifestyle) which now is quite up market and plenty of international and local 'stars' own property at.
Actually I'm glad we saw it back then as it was cause it's very touristy now.

We were there for a week, 2 days in hubby was not feeling well for 3 days (we joked it's cause he lost his freedom LOL) all in all a great relaxing time ............ and cheap considering we had a new mortgage to pay off LOL

My dh and I took two weeks for a honeymoon as I had just finished college and he had two weeks off from his job. The first week we drove, spent the first night at this amazing hotel in Saratoga Springs, NY (they even had a telephone in the bathroom and breakfast and the NY times delivered right to your room in the a.m.) The second night we went to Niagra Falls (it was the 100th year anniversary of the falls opening so crowded but fun) and then we drove around other parts of NY before heading home. We stopped at his (which became "our" first apartment), opened our wedding gifts, picked up our cat and headed to our cottage on the island for the second week. It was not an extravagant honeymoon but it was fun and nice to get to spend alone time together as we had had a long distance relationship for most of the time we were together. Now we have been married 24 years.

Happy face

We honeymooned in Hawaii for 10 days (went to the islands of Oahu, Kauii, Maui, and Lanai). This was 28 years ago. We finally made it back (with our teenage children) for our 20th anniversary. It was wonderful both times!

Ok Girlfriends Go Get You A Box Of Popcorn Because I Am Going To Tell You About Mine....my Husband And I Decided To Elope In Get Married I Lived In Maryville Tennessee And He Lived About 50 Miles Down Teh Road Called Ballplay. He Talked Me Into It I Was 17 And He Was 18. The Day We Ran Off We Went To Ga. And My Cousin Changed My Ageon My Driver Liceneses And We Went To The Justice Ofg Peace And We Was Married But After That We Had To Stay Hid For 2 Weeks So My Mom Couldnt Get It Annuled And Get Her Dishwasher Back. So When We Got Back To Ballplay The Laws Was Setting Over At My Mil So We Had To Turn Around In Go Back Down The Road Sow E Went In Called My Mil They Said Mom And Dad Had The Laws Looking For Me They Were Going To Get My Husband For Kidnapping..about 2 Miles From My Mil House Was A Pond And This Was Where A Lot Of People Pulled Over In Fished At Well My Bil Took Us To This Pond Becayuse The Laws Was After Us And About 100m Yds From Tyhis Pond Was A Tile That Went Under The Road So We Jumped Out At The Pond And Got Into The Tile Under The Road My Mom And The Police Pulled Over At T He Pond And They Were Discussing Where We Could Be. Here We Was Listening To Everything The Law And Mom Was Saying And My Husband Had His Hand Over My Mouth Cause I Was Crying I Was Scarewd Of What My Mom Would Do If She Found Us And I Was Scared Afraid They Were Spiders And Snakes In This Blame Tile With Us. So After About 2 Hours Fo Hiding In The Dark In The Tile My Cousin Came By And We Got In The Car With Her And She Said Come On To My House And No Body Will Find You ( We Only Had 1 Policeman On Ballplay At The Time) Thanks Goodness This Is A Very Small Place Sorta Like Mayberry And Of Course Barnie Fife. But Anyway We Went To Her House And She Had A Couc You Pull Out To Make A Bed And Thats Where We Slept Right N Front Of The Front Door And On Her Front Door She Had 6 Window Panes And 1 Of Them Was Broken So About 3:00 In The Morning A Blame Black Cat Come Thru That Window And Jumped Right In The Middle Of Our Bed And I Woke Up Everybody Within 5 Miles Needless To Say The Cat Ran Away For A Week. But Let Me Tell You I Felt Like Bonnie & Clyde. I Dont Think He Could Talk Me Into Doing Anything For At Least 2 Months After All Of This Excitement. Its Funny Now But It Sure Wasnt Then I Was A City Slicker But Now I Am Really A True Hillbilly Thru And Thru.
