Absence makes the heart grow fonder - does it?

Just wanted to say why I have not been around again. My husband has been in hospital for three weeks now, and is having major surgery tomorrow. Hopefully this will make his life more enjoyable, but at 74 there are a lot of risks. Please say a prayer for him. Thank you. Lorraine

Artylouie, I'm sorry to hear about your husband, I hope he was able to be at home for Christmas.
I can relate my husband was 15 yrs older than I, and had alot of health problems for about the last 7 - 10 yrs. He was 69 when he past..
Being a caregiver takes alot, and yes the risk are higher, but you got to take each day as it comes, and hope for the best.. not easy..
I hope and pray he is doing much better..and he will start feeling better after the surgery. Please let us know how he is doing.
If you ever need to talk, I'm available. Just send me a pm.

I hope your husband's surgery went well. Sometimes absence can make one's relationship grow fonder and sometimes it can create distance and stress a relationship. I think in situations of health problems, it usually does not cause problems in the relationship, unless it goes on forever and the other spouse feels burdened.
