Your Personal Favorite Christmas Memories?

When you reminisce about Christmas, what comes to your mind as being truly special? Have you carried on the traditions from childhood? Have you started new ones?

We used to go driving around looking at Christmas lights, especially on Christmas Eve, and watch for Santa in the sky. Even today, with my grandchildren, as well as when my children were small, we did the same. With my children, we leave out Egg Nog and cookies for Santa. We have been doing this for the GKs. However, my DGD informed me the other day that we cannot leave out Egg Nog because Santa prefers milk! So, we'll see. We decorated the Christmas tree and since we moved to a place that has a whole lot of real mistletoe, we cut some and are going to hang it for Christmas as well.

I have 2 special memories. One was when my son was about 9 and he was starting to questions Santa. Well he found a grey hair on the plate and the computer was flashing "Greg! Do you believe in me now?" He was floored!

The other is when my dd was 8 and began questioning. We were out on Dec 23 at a family birthday that evening. We were driving into the city and saw a red light dancing over the city! It had to be Rudolph, what else could it have been? He must have been on a test run!!! She was so excited! never heard a question from her again! (It was the plane that does the city lights tour, but I like Rudolph much better)

When I reminisce about Christmas ... one thought comes to mind... Grandma's House . There is no place like it at Christmas time. She is 87 now and still there is no place I would rather be. She is a wonderful cook and loves her family. It shows in the meals she makes and how comfortable you feel in her home. Visitors are treated like family and are always welcome . At Grandma's house there is plenty of time for good conversation and lots of hugs .
