Friends!

How many friends do you have that you consider close enough that you confide into them? Where and how did you meet these friends?

I have 3. One is my sister, obvious how i met her. The 2nd is my neighbor, we met when they moved in in june, and the 3rd is the mother of my DD's brother. We met when I was dating my DD's ex-dad (he signed off his rights and my DH adopted her). We didnt like each other when we first met, but now are good friends. Go figure, lol.

2 My very best friend, Cleo, For 29 years. Our husbands were stationed in Subic Bay, Phillipines. We became friends while we were there and over the years, just drew closer. Our last 15 years, were our closest. We un-officially adopted each other.
She gave me the courage to have weight loss surgery. A year later, after watching me and my progress, she also had the surgery.
Cleo was the first person I told ,after my husband, that I had been adopted. I did not know I had been adopted until I was in my late 30's.
Cleo passed away 2 1/2 years ago. I have been devistated by this loss. Her death I believe hit me the hardest of all.
I have met a lovely lady at our church that I have been close to and have confided with in several situations.
I don't think at this stage of my life I will ever have someone as close as Cleo.
Treasure your best friend. They are a blessing from God.

trainlady, Thank you for the hugs, When ever I think of Cleo, I just tear up, I feel like I have lost part of myself. I really miss her most when I have something happy I want to share with her. She lived in Longview Texas, so we did not see each other often, but we were constantly on the phone or computer. She did not have a funeral but her husband had a memorial service for her 1 year later. I never really felt like I got to say good by to her. Her husband sent me a CD of the memorial service but it has been over a year since I recieved it, but I can not watch it. It just hurts to much. I know I should watch it, but. I really know Cleo would not want be to be this broke up about her passing, I know she is in a happier place, and she was not afraid of dying. She is at peace, I wish I were!

Thank You. I don't know what made me say what was really bottled up inside, Maybe it is the season? Cleo was very special, more like a sister than a friend, but then alot of sisters don't ever get that close. Thank You for the care and support. You are one of God's Blessings.

I have 3 really close friends who I could tell anything to or talk about anything with. I don't konw what I would do without them. It is nice to know they are always there for me and I am always there for them.

I have 4 here locally, Shirley who lived next door to me and Gloria who lived behind the two of us. I remarried 22 yrs ago so moved but they are still there and we talk on the phone and see each other when we can. I have known them since Oct of 68.
And Susie we met as she was my Avon lady back when and we have been super close since then her b'day is day before mine but she is right at 20 yrs younger than me. Then Stacie who is only couple months older than my youngest dau Judy. Her b'day is 11 days after mine. We met shortly before I lost my hubby in Oct 95 and we are super close. She lost her mom when she was only 12 and we have sort of adopted each other as Mom/dau. I can talk to either of these dear ladies about anything preying on my mind/heart and know it will remain with them.
Christmas of '08 I lost one who was like a sis to me. We did not get to see each other often due to her being in KY and me here in VA. But we burned up the phone wires. God did not bless me with sisters so I "adopted" my own. I would have had a sis her age had Mom not lost her when I was 14 and she too would have been a Kathy==so guess that is why we got so close she was a Nurses Aide under my dear Mom that is how we met. Mom considered Kat a dau right along beside me
