How did you meet your spouse/significant other?

How did you meet your spouse? What are the details of that meeting? What first attracted you to your spouse?

He was my friends parents friends son.
We met a couple of times out in a group of friends, only a few times really. Then my friend said he likes you and I had no idea, then she also said some one else in that group liked me and I had no idea either .... how dumb am I?
Needless to say my dh won out if there even was a contest, as I say what do I know, and 25yrs later we are still together. I guess he was easy to talk to, still is.
His line was, I know some one who likes you, I said who ( great come back huh?) he said me LOL after that great line we were an item.
Ahhh looking back it really was quite comical and makes you wonder how we ever got together LOL
Oh and the marriage proposal was in the carpark after a dinner out .... which went along the lines, dh, lets get married, my reply, ok. LOL
Short sweet and no frills, actually that is kinda like us, straight and to the point ... eventually!

My dh and I were neighbors. He lived 4 doors down from me. We met thru friends. I needed an A/C window unit put in my livingroom window. Dh and my neighbor put it in for me. Then we started talking about Nascar and other things. He asked me on a date. It was very strange. He was a single father of 1 and I a single mom of 3. We have been together raising our kids as a family ever sense. That was the summer of 1996.

I met my hubby on a blind set up by mutual friends......My girlfriend would ask me to go over and watch her dog for a day and she would send hubby over to do the same thing...she did a few other incidents like this and we got to talking and eventually out on a date and have been together since. I was originally going to pack up and move back west before meeting him....I had broken an engagement with an abusive alcoholic so was not really looking for someone to date let alone marry...funny how things turn out.....we have been together 17 years now.....

hugs debbie

Dh and I have know each other since we were teenagers. We did something together in a group, but never dated. Dh moved to my community several years later (he previously lived about 10 mi away) and started hanging out with my group. Our first "official" date was awful and I wasn't going to waste my time on him, but here we are 27 years later---happy!!!

I met my hubby when I was 14 years old and he and his family moved into our neighborhood. He was my first love. I have know him for 29 years now, and in August we will celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary.

DH and I met in college and married 17 months later. DH was hitting on my lab partner who was still seeing her high school boyfriend so she introduced us when he wouldn't leave her alone LOL. We have been married for 23 yrs now.

DH and I met in high school when one of his friends was dating one of my friends. He and his friend were both in a rock band. How could I resist - lol! That was 30 years ago! We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this October.

This is a great subject. My youngest daughter had to interview somebody over the age of 65 for a school project a few weeks ago. So both my girls(16 and 17rs old) went down to my parents. My parents are 69 and 71 years old. They asked the same question as this one. How did you meet your spouse was it love at first sight.

My parents met on a blind date. My mom said it was love at first sight. My dad says he didn't even like my mom the first time they met. My girls thought this was the funniest thing. My parents have been married for 51 yrs. My mom's comment back to him after she hit him on the arm. Was "You had to like something we have been married for ever"

My girls had a blast talking to my parents about their life growing up as kids. My mom is the 3rd youngest of 13 children. My dad is the 3 oldest of 10 children. My mom's family was dirt poor and lived in the mountains of West Virginia.

I just thought of this day when reading all about how we met our spouses.

Can't remember if I posted here or not....
I met DH over 20 years ago at a Bowling alley where my parents use to live, via friend and friends of friend - I was also semi dating someone else still (you have to actually see each other more than 1 times a month to be more than semi). DH has a nice smile...
