Question In-Law's 50th anniversary...

O.K..... I have a problem.
My (soon to be) in-laws are having their 50th wedding anniversary on june 7th.....yep, tomorrow. They live 800 miles away, and we can't go to see them, so what to do for their day?
We've sent a large plant arrangement....mom likes to garden....but seems like not enough. I've only met these people one time, about 2 months ago, and well......they have more than everything that they need, and most of what they want!
My mate promised his mom (3 years ago) to stop smoking tomorrow, in honor of their day. Would that be an appropriate gift? Mom asked him to do this.
I'm stuck..... don't wanna rock the boat BEFORE we get married!

Your soon to be dh should keep his word and stop smoking. If they have everything they need how about a $ donation to a charity that they support in their honor. In this day and age making it to 50 years is even more special then it used to be. Make sure your dh to be calls them today.

Lightbulb thanks!

My DH to be will probably call mom tonight...unless he called her from work today already.
He had only been awake about 10 minutes this morning, before he BIT MY HEAD OFF!
If he's gonna be a bear all the time, I'm gonna find a place to hide!
I'm not mentioning ANYTHING to him...if he does this, fine. If he doesn't, then he's letting himself down more than her. My DD's father died of lung cancer last July. He was 59... and he was coughing in the morning, 10 years ago, just like my DHTB is doing NOW.
Sorry to get off on that rant.....
Anyway, I'll try to get a photo of us sent to them soon......that's one thing they don't have!:p
