When did you get married?
What was the weather like?
What is your best wedding memory (of your wedding)?
[This idea comes from the thread where ellasmom2001 is getting married soon and is feeling a bit stressed about the day.]

I was married Friday the 13th march 92. There was still snow on the ground and I remember wearing boots to the church along with a fur coat. Hubby wore his military uniform. My best memory was just getting married. Hubby was leaving in 2 weeks to go on active duty to Kuwait and we had a big wedding planned for the summer but he could not come home thanks to the gulf war. The military would not recognise me as his next of kin unless we were married so we choose to cancel the big wedding and have a friday night candlight service at the church. this way if anything happened overseas they would contact me. We had 11 people as guests. The one funny thing I remember is even though there were only 11 people mike was so nervous.....he could not get his vows straight...he kept mixing them up....he said he doesn't know if he would have ever gotten through a big wedding. If you know my hubby he is super shy!. So mike went overseas for a 6 month honeymoon and I stayed in Canada. I would not change our service for anything. It was all about us!

Happy Anniversary Debbie and Mike! So that's why you're visiting NYC? A celebration!!
I was married Sunday, May 5, 1985 (5/5/85) I chose the date because I figured it would be easy for DH to remember lol.
The weather was sunny and warm in the morning while we had our photographs taken in my Aunt and Uncle's back yard. It was just georgeous.
It had started to rain just as I got to the hall where we had the ceremony. I remember running into the lobby without an umbrella and shaking the rain from my hat.. it was a glorious fresh and bright spring rain. The best memory of the day was the sky afterward. The clouds turned a golden-red color, refracting the afternoon light and there was the most beautiful rainbow right over the hall. Both the Priest and the Rabbi who officiated at the ceremony were as awed as we were. The Rabbi told the congregation that it was a sign that our marriage covenent was echoed by G-d's covenent, and that we should take it as a blessing. It was the most beautiful thing for him to say, and will be my most precious memory of an otherwise disasterous day! LOLOL.. But that's a whole 'nother thread!
Yes Val the trip will be our 15th anniversary celebration.........we will be there for yours!!!
That sunset sounds amazing....what great memories.
Hugs Debbie

It had rained very badly the day/night before, but it was beautiful out that morning. Sadly we were unable to get any good outdoor pictures because the mud was horrible and didnt want to ruin everyones dresses. My fondest memory is seeing dh waiting for me at the altar, I never saw him looking so handsome! I wore my late mothers wedding dress and that teared up my dad, which made me tear up so I was a bit wet at the altar. However it was the most wonderful day of my life besides the birth of my boys.
We were married April 16, 1983...my second his first. I 37, he 32. We had a huge wedding. I cried the whole ceremony, he had tears running down his face! Our reception was bigger than the wedding. We had the best time....I had a long Ivory colored gown, with a derby type hat with a Ivory bow with long tails (I designed myself). He in black tux. I later removed my heels and was running around in Ivory colored bedroom slippers that everyone was talking about...lol. It was the most incredible wedding, reception and almost 20 yrs of the happiest days of my life. Unfortunately, I lost my wonderful husband in 2002 of massive heart attack. I have moved on...but I miss him every single day. So the best memory of my wedding was the incredible human being that I married that day, no other like him...he NEVER knew a stranger! They told me his funeral was the largest anyone from our town had seen. I don't remember too much...it was so tramatic for me....they tell me I have blocked out so much for it's too painful for me to remember.
We were married on September 4, 1982. Our preacher was new to the church and this was his first wedding there.
It was very warm that day.
I tripped going up to the altar and had to old back the giggles. Then when it came to the vows, I couldn't get out Holy Spirit. I busted out laughing.
After leaving the church we decided to do the horn honking thing. The car we were in and the car behind us both lost their horns at the same time.
