30 in march!

HI I am married w/ to boys ages 6 & 3 years old.
I am turning 30 this march, alot of people are telling me it's hard for some one to turn 30, but to me I CAN"T WAIT!
I find in your 30's you have more of an understanding of where your life is going.
My 20's was about parting at frist and learning who my real friends are.
I know where I want to be in life, I have a great group of friends and family that I am close to they have had my back through all the stuff I have went through in my 20's, I cherish them all.
I am looking at my 30's as a new start.
The next chaper in my life, I have learned in my 20's not to dwell on the past and be happy with my self the way I am. Life is not perfect but if you do what you can with what you have be happy with that.
A great saying I heard and is very true is
"it's not what you have, It's who you are."

First, welcome to FC Jays_Mrs! Second, it sounds like you have an excellant handle on your life. I don't think you get respect until you are in your 30s. Enjoy turning 30!

Considering that I'm in my 40's, 30 years old sounds young to me! I was never traumatized by any of my birthdays. New experiences, watching your children grow up (my ds is getting married this June!), sharing day to day events with your spouse/partner are all wonderful things that get better with age!

Turning 30??? I think different people go into different phases for each age they turn. I will be 62 in 6 days...and I have yet to feel down about any age I have gone through...the old saying "you are as old as you feel". Sometimes I do have a hard time realizing that I am over 60. I don't feel it, and I don't act it....but then again...how does one act at 60???? LOL.
Enjoy the turning of each age.

Embrace your 30's!!! I'm 36 and even though I have had some of the most disasterous and tragic things happen to me in the last 6 years, my 30's have still been amazing! There is an internal understanding that develops within me and I believe that it only gets better with every year that goes by. Relax, enjoy and Happy (early) Birthday!!!

Welcome to fc jays_mrs.

I did not have a problem turning 30 - for me it sounded like such a grown up age. I had my 2nd child the month before I turned 30 and my 3rd child at 34. Turning 40 wasn't so bad either. I am now in my mid 40's and sometimes look back at choices I made and wonder what my life would have been like had I taken different paths but I have no regrets. I am wondering what it will be like to turn 50, though.
DebK, a few years ago, some friends and I (who are all in our 40's) were talking about age. We all decided we did not feel like we were in our 40's so we started the "25 forever club". We thought 25 was a good age. So now, on our birthdays, we just turn 25 again. This year my ds2 made me a birthday cake and on top of the cake he put two candles a 2 and a 5. He knows about the club and thinks it is funny. He told me I can use the candles again when I turn 52 but I told him I can use them again next year when I turn 25 again LOL.
