Daughter's 5th grade graduation!

She's growing up way too fast!
We moved to the Ft Myers area 2 months ago, after living in the same neighborhood for 7 1/2 years. My daughter was -to say the least, bummed!
I went to the principal of her old school, and made arrangements for her to graduate with her class. She's been with these same kids since pre-school, and misses them terribly. Old neighborhood is 43 miles away...
WELL........she graduated w/them today!!!
We celebrated by going to Wal Mart, and buying her first pair of high heels! She walks funny in 'em, but she's a happy girl!

It's so great that your daughter was able to be with her class!! I ended up homeschooling my daughter for 5th grade because the school she was in only went to 4th. And the public schools in our area weren't 'up to snuff'.

We are moving to North Carolina and praying that the schools there are more in line for her! I want her to get back into the school atmosphere -- she really missed the social aspect of it when she was home. Also, we were finished early in the day and she always had to wait for the other children in the neighborhood to come home and do their homework. I loved homeschooling her - it brought us very close but I know she needs more than Mommy ( did I say that?)

I have a 2 year old at home with me and have just started a homeschooling nursery program with him and it's a blast seeing the little guy so eager to learn!

Hi,
I just read your post. It sure brought back some wonderful memories for me!! My daughter is grown but she loved wearing high heels and dressing in my old clothes. She called it "playing dress-up". I am happy for your daughter that she was able to graduate with her old friends. Now, she can make new friends in her new school year coming up.
