Suzybeth
that was so sweet of your aunt for working with the name change.
I will have to agree it is hard, as my ex husband was known as one name and then when he got married to this woman he married to ex husband was name the name he going by now, which is a form of his name. I knew him as one name and he is now going by another that was hard to have known this man for 15 yrs as and now calling him another name , I don't think so. but I do try but it not easy. I'm about getting use to the change.
but to me he will always be the name I knew him by..
my kids are used to both names now.
I got my name about seven years ago. I had just started dating my husband and had to move 120 miles away from him! I wanted to have an "inexpensive" way of keeping in touch. So I finally gave in to the whole on-line concept and let my brother set up a free email account with yahoo for me!
I had no idea what a "username" was when he asked me what I wanted to use !
After i finally understood what it was and what it was for, I decided I wanted to be katiedid because all through childhood only one of my Aunts ever called me Katiedid. That was taken. so we tried various forms of the name until one was accepted, hence, Kadee_diid !
my screen name is easy..

Most people here still know me as DeBora18 and now I am DeBora43.
My first name is DeBora (Not pronounced Deborah) and my driver, Bobby Labonte just went from racing in the #18 car in the NASCAR Cup Series to the #43 Cheerios car for Petty Enterprises. I know, I have a serious problem! LOL
DeBora, I have always pronounced your name [in my head] as Deh Bore Ahh is that the correct way to pronounce it? I didn't know it was your real name, that is nice to know.

Felicia, LOL My name is actually pronounced DeeBora. However, very few people get it right, so I get used to it. LOL The funniest thing was once when my DH and I decided to try a different check company. I had to send them a check--signed of course. I also have to send them a voided check and a deposit slip. Well, they not only had my signature which included the upper case D and upper case B as well as my name spelled on all the check and deposit slip copies. Can you believe that they still put Deborah on the checks? I was so angry as I had to call them and then wait another several weeks for them to send me to correct copies. Then, my college gre tired of people calling me the wrong name, so they put a space between De and Bora so that the D and the B would be upper case. I wondered why all the teachers suddenly were getting my name right. Then, my financial aid package came in with De B Last name! They had my first name as De and my middle initial as B! I had to send them several copies of my birth certificate proving that DeBora was my first name and that I didn't have a middle initial. You'd think with all the weird names out there, people would get it right. It was a lot of red tape to correct this so that the name on my degree would be wrong.
I think I can pronounce Felicia and Donna! LOL However, I have come across many names that I still can't pronounced even after I've heard them. Most of them are Indian names! I had one doctor from Idia and her staff called her Dr. Uma. I inquired as to what her last name what. It was like a billion syllables long! Then I understood why she was called by her first name! LOL
