Hi,
My daughter is graduating from high school. I do have a bit of a problem. She has played softball for 6yrs on a summer league. All of the girls are also graduating. We can not afford to give cash to all 13 girls. I was thinking of small but fun gifts in a bag. If anyone has some ideas I sure could use some help. Thanks Alice

Are you looking for gifts with a softball theme or just small gifts in general? Can you give me an idea of how much you would like to spend per bag?
Ill see what ideas I can come up with for you!

Hi I'm looking for gifts for girls that are going to be off to college next fall. Gift bags that the content cost about 20 25 dollars. I thought of phone cards, but everyone under the sun has a cell phone with free anytime/anywhere minutes. No candles in the dorm rooms so that out too. Help??

Thats a great amt. of money to work with so Ill be back tonight with some ideas for you.
Do you know if there are any coffee shops or convenience stores nearby that you could do gifts cards to?
Also, Are they all going to the same college? A college bookstore gift card would be nice too.
How about making them an away from home bag.....maybe a pillow that they could keep on their beds, a book to read, a cup and tea and a snack.
or
A junk food bag or box .I think that all teenagers like junk food.
Is anyone going to have a VCR or DVD player? ( I cant believe what kids take to college nowadays) Movie Rental cards and munchies would be great.
Since they are all girls, You could make a kit full of feminine things like lotions, nail polish and removers and lip gloss---you could really extend this.
You could also get t-shirts for them with a group picture printed on them that way they could sort of feel "together"---even nightshirts would work.
Thats it off the top of my head. Ill be back with more tonight.

Hi, Thanks for the ideas. I didn't think of all of those. The gift cards for movie rentals and coffee places are great ideas as well as the junk food bags. Thanks again

Heres a couple more for you......
A gift card to download music off of the internet when they are at college.
You could also do a small scrapbook for each of them.
Are the girls close? You could take them somewhere and have their picture taken together and then buy them each a copy of the picture. One with them wearing their uniforms would be really cute.
They can always use cute stationary, stamps and envelopes, along with a disposable camera to keep in touch with each other.
Hope this has given you some ideas.
Im going to move this thread to the "Gift Giving Ideas" forum to see if we can generate some more ideas for you.
If you still need more help, just ask!
Let me know what you decide to do.

Help! What do you give for a grad gift to somone you don't really know?
DH grew up with the parents, and we have met the two kids in question (one girl, one boy, they are cousins), is cash okay? I basically know nothing about these kids. Can't even remeber their names.

A friend does this, and I think it is wonderful. She buys a rubbermaid type file box and fills it with file folders, envelopes, stampes, pens, calulator, all types of office supplies. She even starts labeling some of the files, health, bills, grants, loans........ You can use this idea with any buget.
I have given totes for kids who are traveling to and from college.
Laundry basket filled with laundry needs OR rolls of quarters for the machines.
